Best Credit Cards & Lounge Access for Miami (MIA) Flyers

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

Miami is American Airlines' main gateway to Latin America, and almost all of American's flights leave from the long Concourse D. That's also where the Centurion Lounge MIA is, and Priority Pass at MIA is better than at most US airports, so the best credit card for Miami flyers is often a bank card, not an airline card.

Quick answer

  • Best overall for MIA lounge access: Amex Platinum — includes the Centurion Lounge MIA (Concourse D), Priority Pass and Delta Sky Club visits
  • Best value for Priority Pass: Capital One Venture X — Priority Pass MIA covers two Turkish Airlines lounges and the 24-hour Avianca/TAP lounge (there's no Capital One Lounge here)
  • Best for frequent American flyers: Citi AAdvantage Executive with Admirals Club access (two clubs in Concourse D)
  • Best for travelers who bring guests: Chase Sapphire Reserve — two free guests at Priority Pass lounges (there's no Sapphire Lounge at MIA)

Airport snapshot

MIA has three terminal areas: the North Terminal (Concourse D, American and its oneworld partners), the Central Terminal (Concourses E and F) and the South Terminal (Concourses H and J, home to Delta and many Star Alliance and Latin American airlines). The Centurion Lounge and American's clubs are in Concourse D. The Priority Pass lounges are in Concourse E, the H–J connector and Concourse J, so whichever concourse you fly from, there's a card that works near your gate. Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is the main nearby alternative.

Where to go by terminal

Terminal Airlines Lounges there
Concourse D (North) American, oneworld partners Centurion, 2 Admirals Clubs, Flagship
Concourse E (Central) Mixed international Turkish (Priority Pass), British Airways; Admirals Club closed
Concourse F (Central) Mixed Club America (closed)
Concourse H (South) Delta and others Sky Club and Turkish (H–J connector)
Concourse J (South) Star Alliance, Latin American airlines Avianca/TAP (Priority Pass, 24 hours), LATAM

D connects airside to E, and H to J, but getting between the North and South Terminals usually means leaving and rescreening; ask your airline if you're connecting.

Lounges at MIA

Centurion Lounge MIA

  • Location: North Terminal, Concourse D, level 4, near gate D12.
  • Access: Amex Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders with a same-day boarding pass, within 3 hours of departure, or within 5 hours on a layover (since July 8, 2026). Delta Reserve cardholders get in only on a same-day Delta flight booked with an Amex card, which at MIA means getting from the South Terminal to Concourse D, often with a second security check.
  • Guest policy: Up to two guests at $50 per adult and $30 per child (2–17). Platinum guests become free after $75,000 in calendar-year spend. Guests must be on your flight.
  • Best for: American flyers in Concourse D. It's often a better space than the Admirals Clubs next to it.
  • Crowds: When it hits capacity, Amex runs a digital waitlist in the Amex app, which also shows how busy the lounge is; check before you walk over.

American Admirals Clubs and Flagship Lounge

  • Location: Concourse D, third floor above gate D15, and across from gate D30. The Flagship Lounge is near gate D30 and is the largest in American's network. The Concourse E Admirals Club is temporarily closed.
  • Access: Citi AAdvantage Executive cardholders get Admirals Club membership. Citi Strata Elite gives four Admirals Club passes a year, each covering one adult plus up to three children under 18. Flagship requires a premium international ticket or top oneworld status, so no card gets you in.
  • Guest policy: AAdvantage Executive: up to two guests or immediate family.
  • Best for: American flyers, especially on connections to Latin America.

Delta Sky Club

  • Location: South Terminal, inside the H–J connector.
  • Access: Delta flyers with an eligible card. Amex Platinum gives 10 visits per year and Delta Reserve gives 15. Either card unlocks unlimited visits after $75,000 in annual spend. Basic Economy doesn't qualify.
  • Guest policy: $50 per guest, up to two. Delta Reserve adds four one-time guest passes a year.
  • Best for: Delta flyers. It's the closest card-accessible club to Concourses H and J.

Turkish Airlines Lounges (two)

  • Location: Concourse E (Central Terminal, level 2) and the H–J connector (South Terminal, level 3).
  • Access: Turkish premium passengers, Star Alliance Gold members and Priority Pass members. Upgraded Points reports Priority Pass visits at the Concourse E lounge are limited to adults 21 and over and 3 hours.
  • Guest policy: Set by your Priority Pass membership (see below).
  • Best for: Anyone with Priority Pass flying from the Central or South Terminal. These are some of the better Priority Pass lounges in the US.

Avianca/TAP Portugal VIP Lounge

  • Location: South Terminal, Concourse J, across from gate J6.
  • Access: Avianca and Star Alliance business-class passengers, LifeMiles elites and Priority Pass members. Upgraded Points lists it as open 24 hours.
  • Best for: Late-night and red-eye departures from Concourse J.

Other airline lounges

  • British Airways Lounge (Concourse E): BA premium passengers and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald elites.
  • LATAM VIP Lounge (Concourse J): LATAM and oneworld premium passengers and LATAM Pass elites, plus paid entry.
  • Club America (Concourse F): Temporarily closed.

Priority Pass at MIA

  • Turkish Airlines Lounge: North Terminal side, listed under Concourses D and E (the lounge itself is in Concourse E).
  • Turkish Airlines Lounge: South Terminal, H–J connector.
  • AV/TAP VIP Lounge: South Terminal, Concourse J.
  • Corona Beach House: Concourses D/E. A restaurant credit, not a lounge, and the memberships on Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X and Citi Strata Elite don't include restaurants.
  • XpresSpa: Concourse D. A spa perk, not a lounge.
  • Access: Sapphire Reserve, Amex Platinum and Strata Elite include two free guests. The personal Venture X charges $35 per guest. You need a same-day departing boarding pass.

Recommended strategy

  • If you fly American often from MIA: The AAdvantage Executive gets you into both Concourse D Admirals Clubs. If you can live with a few visits a year, the Strata Elite's four Admirals Club passes plus Priority Pass is a cheaper mix.
  • If you want one card that covers the best lounges: Amex Platinum. The Centurion is in American's concourse, and its Priority Pass membership covers the Turkish and Avianca lounges for the South Terminal.
  • If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X. At MIA, Priority Pass gets you three real lounges, one open 24 hours. The catch is $35 per guest.
  • If you fly Delta or Star Alliance from the South Terminal: Stay near your gate. The Sky Club, the H–J Turkish lounge and Avianca/TAP are all close by.

No card? Day passes & other options

American sells Admirals Club day passes (Upgraded Points lists $79 or 7,900 miles). Eligible flyers can buy a single-visit Flagship pass ($150 or 15,000 miles, 21+). The LATAM VIP Lounge sells paid entry, and the Avianca/TAP lounge sells passes for Avianca flights. You can't buy your way into the Centurion. The Military Hospitality Lounge in Concourse E (before security) serves service members, veterans and their families.

FAQ

Is there a Centurion Lounge at MIA? Yes. It's in Concourse D (North Terminal) near gate D12, on level 4, after security. Amex Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders get in free, and Delta Reserve cardholders get in when flying Delta on a ticket booked with an Amex card.

Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at MIA? Amex Platinum is the strongest of the three at MIA. It's the only one with a bank lounge here (the Centurion, in American's concourse), and its Priority Pass membership covers the same Turkish and Avianca/TAP lounges as the other two. If you mostly fly from Concourses E, H or J and don't need the Centurion, Venture X gets you those Priority Pass lounges for $395. Sapphire Reserve's advantage is two free guests, compared with $35 per guest on Venture X.

Which Priority Pass lounges are at MIA? There are three real lounges: the Turkish Airlines Lounge in Concourse E, a second Turkish lounge in the H–J connector, and the Avianca/TAP VIP Lounge in Concourse J. Corona Beach House (a restaurant) and XpresSpa are also on the list, but they aren't lounges.

Can a credit card get me into the Flagship Lounge at MIA? No. Flagship access comes from a premium international ticket or top oneworld status. Eligible flyers can also buy a single-visit Flagship pass. The AAdvantage Executive card covers Admirals Clubs, not Flagship.
