Best Credit Cards & Lounge Access for Fort Lauderdale (FLL) Flyers

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

Fort Lauderdale is a big leisure and Caribbean gateway for JetBlue, Southwest, Delta, United and American, but FLL lounge access is thin: three lounges, one per terminal in Terminals 1–3, and nothing in Terminal 4. There's no Centurion Lounge at FLL, and Priority Pass FLL is a single restaurant that most premium cards no longer cover, so the best credit card for Fort Lauderdale flyers depends almost entirely on which terminal you use.

Quick answer

  • Best overall for FLL lounge access: Amex Platinum — includes the Escape Lounge in Terminal 3 (for Terminals 3 and 4) and the Delta Sky Club on Delta flights. No Centurion Lounge at FLL.
  • Best value for Priority Pass: Not at FLL. Capital One Venture X and Sapphire Reserve get you nothing here, because the only Priority Pass location is a restaurant and their memberships are lounges-only.
  • Best for frequent Delta flyers: Delta SkyMiles Reserve with Sky Club access in Terminal 2
  • Best for frequent United flyers: the United Club card with United Club access in Terminal 1 — see our United MileagePlus guide

Airport snapshot

FLL has four terminals in a horseshoe. JetBlue and American share Terminal 3, Southwest and United fly from Terminal 1, Delta has Terminal 2, and Terminal 4 handles international and low-cost carriers. American has no Admirals Club here, and JetBlue has no lounge of its own, so the Amex-partner Escape Lounge is the only lounge most Terminal 3 and 4 passengers can realistically use.

Where to go by terminal

Terminal Airlines Lounges there
T1 (A–C) Southwest, United, Alaska, others United Club
T2 (D) Delta, Air Canada, WestJet Delta Sky Club
T3 (E–F) JetBlue, American, others Escape Lounge
T4 (G–H) International & low-cost carriers None (Kafe Kalik, Priority Pass restaurant)

Terminals 3 and 4 are linked after security, which is why the Escape Lounge serves both. For anything else, plan to stay in your own terminal; moving between terminals generally means leaving and re-clearing security.

Miami (MIA): About 30 miles south, MIA is American's Florida hub with far more lounges. If you're flexible on airport, see our MIA lounge guide.

Lounges at FLL

Escape Lounge FLL (Terminal 3)

  • Location: Terminal 3, upstairs on the walkway between the E and F gates. Amex says it's for passengers departing Terminals 3 and 4.
  • Access: Amex Platinum, Business Platinum and Centurion cardholders on any airline, up to 3 hours before departure. Delta SkyMiles Reserve holders only on a Delta flight, which in practice rarely applies since Delta flies from Terminal 2. Walk-ins pay at the door or book ahead online. It is not a Priority Pass lounge at FLL.
  • Guest policy: Amex has listed up to two complimentary guests for Platinum at Escape Lounges; Amex's current page doesn't spell it out, so confirm in the Amex app. Children under 2 are free.
  • Best for: JetBlue and American flyers with an Amex Platinum.

Delta Sky Club FLL

  • Location: Terminal 2, in the main atrium between gates D2 and D3.
  • Access: Same-day Delta flight. Delta SkyMiles Reserve (15 visits a year), Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (10 visits a year; unlimited after $75,000 in annual spend), Sky Club members, Delta One passengers and eligible Medallion members. No day passes. Entry no earlier than 3 hours before departure.
  • Guest policy: $50 per guest, up to two; Reserve cardholders get four free guest passes a year.
  • Best for: Delta flyers.

United Club FLL

  • Location: Terminal 1, Concourse C, next to gate C1.
  • Access: United Club members and United Club card holders with a same-day United or Star Alliance boarding pass, plus day passes when space allows. Entry no earlier than 3 hours before departure.
  • Guest policy: United Club card membership includes one adult guest plus dependents.
  • Best for: United flyers. Southwest passengers in Terminal 1 can't use it.

Priority Pass at FLL

  • Kafe Kalik — Terminal 4, near gate G6. Restaurant credit.
  • Access: Priority Pass memberships from Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X and Citi Strata Elite are lounges-only, so they don't cover Kafe Kalik. There is no Priority Pass lounge at FLL.

Best credit cards for FLL

Amex Platinum $895 Escape (T3/T4), Sky Club on Delta Check Amex app Fly JetBlue or American
Amex Business Platinum $895 Same as Platinum Check Amex app Own a business
Delta SkyMiles Reserve $650 Sky Club (15 visits) $50 each; 4 free passes Fly Delta

Recommended strategy

  • If you fly JetBlue or American from FLL: Amex Platinum is the only card that gets you into a lounge in Terminal 3. Citi AAdvantage Executive is no help here, since there's no Admirals Club.
  • If you fly Delta often from FLL: Delta SkyMiles Reserve for the Terminal 2 Sky Club.
  • If you fly Southwest from FLL: No card gets you a lounge in your terminal. Don't pay a premium fee for FLL alone; choose a card for the lounges at the airports you connect through.
  • If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X still makes sense if you connect through hubs with Priority Pass or Capital One Lounges, but it does nothing at FLL.

No card? Day passes & other options

The Escape Lounge sells entry at the door or cheaper when booked ahead on its website (prices have ranged roughly $40–$60). The United Club sells day passes when space allows. Delta doesn't sell Sky Club day passes. Terminal 4 has no lounge to buy into.

FAQ

Is there a Centurion Lounge at FLL? No. There's no Centurion Lounge at FLL. Amex Platinum holders use the Escape Lounge in Terminal 3, which Amex lists as a Centurion Studio partner, and the Sky Club on Delta flights.

Does Priority Pass work at FLL? Barely. The only Priority Pass location is Kafe Kalik, a restaurant in Terminal 4, and Priority Pass memberships from Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X and Strata Elite don't include restaurants. The Escape Lounge doesn't take Priority Pass at FLL.

Can I use the Escape Lounge if I fly from Terminal 1 or 2? Not practically. It's past security in Terminal 3 and only connected to Terminal 4, so you'd have to leave, take the shuttle and re-clear security, then do it again for your flight.

Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at FLL? Platinum, clearly. It's the only one of the three with any lounge at FLL (the Escape Lounge, plus the Sky Club on Delta flights). Sapphire Reserve and Venture X get nothing here because there's no Priority Pass lounge. Pick those only for the lounges at the other airports you use.
