Spooky-season deals — costumes, candy & decor

Corrections Policy

Card benefits, award prices, lounge rules and retail prices change all the time. Sometimes we’ll be behind, and sometimes we’ll just be wrong. This page explains how to tell us and what happens next.

How to report a mistake

Email support@kritdeals.com with:

  • the link to the page,
  • what’s wrong, and what you think is right,
  • a source if you have one, such as the issuer’s terms page, the airline’s award chart or the retailer’s listing.

A person reads every message. You don’t need an account. Other ways to reach us are on the contact page.

What we do

  1. Check it against the primary source. That means the issuer, airline, hotel program or retailer, not another blog.
  2. Fix the page itself. We correct the text, figures and any comparison or score that depends on them. A card’s KritScore is recalculated when its details are saved.
  3. Fix it everywhere it appears. Card details feed several places, including card pages, comparisons and Points Path. We correct the underlying data so they all agree.
  4. Reply to you to say what we changed, or why we didn’t change anything.

If a deal is wrong, for example the price has gone up, the listing is gone or the coupon is dead, we expire or re-check it instead of leaving it up. Our price checks already do this automatically on a schedule, as described on the About page.

How corrections are dated

  • Guides show the date they were last updated. Correcting a guide moves that date. If the correction changes a recommendation or a key figure, like a fee, a bonus or a net cost, we also say in the guide what changed.
  • Credit card pages show when the offer terms were last updated. That date moves only when the offer changes, and it’s separate from any guide’s edit date. See how offer dates work.
  • Deal pages show when the price was last checked, along with the price history behind the listing.

What we won’t change

We correct facts. We don’t change ratings, scores or rankings because an issuer, retailer or affiliate partner asks us to, or because of how much commission a link pays. How we make money is set out in our affiliate disclosure. How cards are scored is explained in How We Rate Credit Cards.
