About KritDeals

KritDeals is a US deal site that tracks the price of the products it pulls from retailer feeds and lists a deal only while it sits at the lowest price we have recorded for it. Each deal page shows the price history behind that claim, when the price was last checked, and a KritScore — so you can check the claim rather than take our word for it.

We only list all-time lows

Every automatically tracked deal carries a price history: each time a feed re-pulls a product and the price differs from the last observation, we record a new point. A deal is live — in the feeds, on the home page, in search and in the sitemap — only while its current price ties or beats every price in that history. The moment it drifts above its own low it is shelved: still tracked, still reachable at its URL, but not recommended, until the price comes back down.

A product we are seeing for the first time has no history to compare against, so it earns a listing only with a headline discount of at least 40% off the retailer’s list price. Once we have watched its price change at least once, it lives or shelves on that history alone. Most of what we track is shelved at any given moment; that is the point.

How we track prices

Amazon, our main tracked feed, is re-pulled every three hours. Each run records the current price, re-applies the floor to every product it returns and re-stamps a 48-hour expiry, so a product that stops coming back from the feed expires within about two days rather than lingering at a price nobody can verify.
Hand-added picks have no feed behind them, so a separate job re-checks the ones that resolve to an Amazon product every six hours against the same API. If the listing is gone, or the price has risen more than 2% above what we published, the deal is expired rather than left up.
The same pipeline is built for eBay, Walmart, Best Buy and the affiliate networks on a six-hour cycle. Each source is enabled individually, and only enabled sources contribute deals.

What KritScore measures

KritScore is a 0–100 number computed from the same data, not an opinion. For a deal with price history it adds up:

Discount depth — up to 42 points, judged against what a top deal in that department usually carries: 70% off for most departments, 35% for Toys, Kids & Baby, where discounts run shallower.
At its low — 20 points when the price is at, or within 2% of, its all-time low.
Community votes — up to 20 points.
Retailer’s own deal flag — 12 points for an active badge such as an Amazon Lightning or Best Deal.
Store — 10 points for a store we rate as popular, 4 otherwise.
Recognizable brand in the title — 8 points. Coupon code — 8 points.

The total is capped at 100. A deal we hold no price history for yet is scored on its percentage off alone, mapped to the same scale, so the number never implies a price signal we do not have. Cards show the score from 55 (Fair) upward — 70 Good, 80 Excellent, 90 Legendary. Below 55 the chip stays off: a card with no score is neutral, not a warning.

What the floor doesn’t cover

Sponsored placements. A featured deal — a placement a sponsor has bought — stays live regardless of its price history. In-feed sponsored cards are marked SPONSORED.
Editorial picks. Deals our editors add by hand sit outside the automated floor; the ingest never touches them, so it cannot shelve them. They are re-checked on the six-hour cycle above and expire when the price they advertised is gone.
Toys, Kids & Baby. Baby essentials — diapers, wipes, formula — rarely see the deep discounts the first-sighting gate expects, so the department is listed on discount instead: anything at least 10% off at the sweep goes live without the all-time-low check. The baby deals pages rank those by price per diaper or per wipe so a bigger pack cannot hide a worse price.

Who writes the guides

Guides are written and maintained by KritDeals Editorial and show the date they were last updated. Nobody can pay for a place in a guide or for a deal to clear the floor: affiliate commission rates are recorded for our own accounting and never enter the floor rule, the feed order or KritScore.

Store trust badges are recomputed daily from a store’s live deals — average KritScore, community “works / dead” reports, and the share of its deals an automated legitimacy check did not flag. Automated checks can be wrong; confirm the final price and terms on the retailer’s site before you buy.
