Best Credit Cards & Lounge Access for Dallas (DFW) Flyers

By Krit Β· Updated Β· How we research

Lounge access rules change often β€” confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

DFW is American Airlines' largest hub, and in 2026 it became one of the best airports in the country for DFW lounge access: Terminal D now holds the Centurion Lounge DFW, a Capital One Lounge, a Chase Sapphire Lounge (opened July 2026) and two new Plaza Premium lounges, all a short walk apart. The best credit card for Dallas flyers depends on whether you fly American β€” and across town, Southwest-dominated Dallas Love Field (DAL) still has no lounge at all.

  • Best value for Priority Pass + Capital One Lounge: Capital One Venture X β€” $395 for the Capital One Lounge near D22 plus Priority Pass (guests now pay)

Airport snapshot

American runs most of DFW's flights, spread across Terminals A, B, C, D and E, and every terminal is linked airside by the Skylink train β€” so a lounge in Terminal D is usable even if you depart from A or C, as long as you leave time to ride back. All the bank lounges cluster in Terminal D (the international terminal). Terminal E is where Delta, United and most non-American domestic carriers fly, and it has its own Sky Club, United Club and Plaza Premium. A sixth terminal, F, is under construction next to D.

Where to go by terminal

Terminal Airlines Lounges there
A American Admirals Club (A24), Minute Suites
B American Admirals Club (B3)
C American Admirals Club (C20)
D American (international), foreign airlines Centurion, Capital One, Sapphire, Plaza Premium + First, Flagship, Admirals Club (D24), The Club DFW
E Delta, United, other domestic airlines Sky Club, United Club, Plaza Premium (PP), Admirals Club (satellite)

All five terminals are connected airside by the Skylink train, so you can reach the Terminal D lounges from any gate without clearing security again.

Dallas Love Field (DAL): No lounges and no Priority Pass locations β€” only a USO for military members. Southwest's first lounges (late 2027) aren't planned for Love Field, so a lounge card only helps Southwest flyers on connections.

Lounges at DFW

Centurion Lounge DFW (American Express)

  • Location: Terminal D, upstairs across from gate D12. Amex announced an expansion of about 50% in April 2026, expected to finish in 2027.
  • Access: Amex Platinum, Business Platinum and Centurion cardholders with a same-day boarding pass on any airline; Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders only when flying Delta. Entry is limited to 3 hours before departure; on a connection, up to 5 hours before your next flight (since July 8, 2026).
  • Guest policy: Guests cost $50 per adult (up to two). Free guest access returns once you spend $75,000 on the card in a calendar year. Since July 8, 2026, guests must be on the same flight as the cardholder.
  • Best for: Platinum holders who want a full hot meal and a real bar.
  • Crowds: It gets crowded at peak times β€” the Terminal D Plaza Premium a few gates away is the backup.

Capital One Lounge DFW

  • Location: Terminal D, near gate D22.
  • Access: Capital One Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders with a same-day boarding pass on any airline, up to 3 hours before departure. Capital One sells day passes ($90, space permitting) only to Capital One cardholders at DFW.
  • Guest policy: Since February 1, 2026, guests cost $45 per adult and $25 for ages 2–17 unless you spend $75,000 a year on the card (which restores two free guests). Authorized users no longer get in automatically β€” the primary cardholder pays $125 per authorized user per year to add access.
  • Best for: Solo travelers on any airline. Many reviewers rank it the best food at DFW.

Chase Sapphire Lounge DFW (by The Club)

  • Location: Terminal D, near gate D25, above the concourse. About 18,000 square feet with a whiskey lounge, showers and rest pods. Opened July 16, 2026.
  • Access: Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders (primary and authorized users), Sapphire Reserve for Business primary cardholders, J.P. Morgan Reserve and Ritz-Carlton cardholders. Since August 15, 2026, Chase Sapphire Lounges no longer accept Priority Pass from other issuers. Entry is 3 hours before an originating flight, up to 5 hours on a connection.
  • Guest policy: Two guests free; additional guests $27 each; children under 2 free.
  • Best for: Sapphire Reserve holders, and anyone who wants to escape the Centurion crowds.
  • Crowds: Readers report occasional waitlists at peak times.

Admirals Club DFW (American Airlines)

  • Location: One in each main terminal β€” near A24, B3, C20 and D24 β€” plus a smaller club in the Terminal E satellite.
  • Access: Admirals Club members (including Citi AAdvantage Executive cardholders), AA elites flying internationally, premium-cabin international passengers, and day-pass buyers ($79 or 7,900 miles). Same-day American or oneworld boarding pass required.
  • Guest policy: Members can bring immediate family or up to two guests.
  • Best for: American flyers who want a lounge near their own gate.

Flagship Lounge DFW (American Airlines)

  • Location: Terminal D, between gates D22 and D23.
  • Access: Ticket- and status-based only: Flagship First/Business on eligible international, transcontinental and select long-haul flights, or oneworld Emerald/Sapphire-level elites flying internationally. No credit card gets you in.
  • Guest policy: Follows American's premium-cabin and status rules.
  • Best for: Long-haul premium passengers. It's the best lounge at DFW if you qualify.

Plaza Premium Lounge and Plaza Premium First (Terminal D)

  • Location: Terminal D, second level opposite gate D15. Both opened March 9, 2026.
  • Access: Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (via the Global Lounge Collection), or a paid pass. Priority Pass no longer lists this location. The First lounge costs a $45 co-pay for anyone who already has access to the standard lounge, and is a contract lounge for business/first on Air France, Emirates, EVA, Finnair and Turkish.
  • Guest policy: Set by the access method; Amex guests typically pay.
  • Best for: A Platinum backup when the Centurion is full β€” it's a few gates away.

Delta Sky Club DFW

  • Location: Terminal E, near gate E10.
  • Access: Same-day Delta flight. Delta SkyMiles Reserve (15 visits a year), Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (10 visits a year; unlimited after $75,000 in annual spend), Sky Club members, Delta One passengers, Medallion and SkyTeam Elite Plus members. Delta doesn't sell day passes.
  • Guest policy: $50 per guest, up to two; Reserve cardholders also get four free guest passes a year.
  • Best for: Delta flyers in Terminal E.

United Club DFW

  • Location: Terminal E, near gate E6. It closed in November 2025 for sanitation repairs and was reported reopened in December 2025 β€” check the United app.
  • Access: United Club members and United Club card holders with a same-day United or Star Alliance boarding pass; $59 day passes when space allows.
  • Guest policy: United Club card membership includes one adult guest plus dependents.
  • Best for: United flyers heading to Houston, Denver or Chicago hubs.

  • Be Relax Spa, XpresSpa, The Chiroport β€” spa experiences in A, B and D.
  • Access: Priority Pass Select from Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X or Citi Strata Elite covers The Club DFW and the Terminal E Plaza Premium. Chase's version still includes spa and Minute Suites visits; Amex and Capital One memberships are lounge-only.

Best credit cards for DFW

Recommended strategy

  • If you fly American often from DFW: Citi AAdvantage Executive. An Admirals Club in every terminal beats walking to D, and the membership covers immediate family. Add a Capital One Venture X if you want Terminal D's better food for $395 more.
  • If you want one card that covers the best lounges: Amex Platinum. It's the only card that unlocks the Centurion, the new Plaza Premium in D and the Sky Club in E. Pick Sapphire Reserve instead if you usually travel with two companions β€” two free guests save about $100 per visit versus Platinum's $50-per-guest fee.
  • If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X. The Capital One Lounge is excellent, but budget $45 per adult guest now.
  • If you fly Southwest from Love Field: DAL has no lounge or Priority Pass location (only a USO). Southwest's first lounges open elsewhere in late 2027; Love Field isn't in that first group. A lounge card helps only on connections.

No card? Day passes & other options

The Admirals Clubs sell day passes ($79 or 7,900 miles) with a same-day American or oneworld ticket, the United Club sells $59 passes when space allows, and The Club DFW sells advance online passes. Capital One sells limited day passes at its lounge. Plaza Premium sells passes online for both Terminal D lounges.

FAQ

Is there a Chase Sapphire Lounge at DFW? Yes. It opened July 16, 2026, in Terminal D near gate D25. Sapphire Reserve cardholders get in free with two guests. Since August 15, 2026, it no longer accepts Priority Pass from other card issuers.

Where is the Centurion Lounge at DFW? In Terminal D, upstairs across from gate D12. You need a Platinum, Business Platinum or Centurion card and a same-day boarding pass, or a Delta Reserve card when flying Delta. Amex plans to expand it by about 50%, with completion expected in 2027.

Does Priority Pass work at DFW? Yes, at The Club DFW in Terminal D and the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal E, plus Minute Suites, Gameway and spas. It no longer gets you into the Chase Sapphire Lounge or, per recent reports, the Terminal D Plaza Premium.

Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at DFW? Platinum gets you into the most DFW lounges (Centurion, Plaza Premium D, Sky Club on Delta flights and Priority Pass), but guests cost $50 each. Sapphire Reserve covers one excellent lounge plus Priority Pass and is the best of the three for groups, with two free guests. Venture X costs $395 for a lounge many rate as DFW's best food, but guests now pay $45. Solo traveler: Venture X. With family: Sapphire Reserve. Maximum options: Platinum.

Are there lounges at Dallas Love Field? No. Love Field has only a USO lounge for military members. Southwest is building its first lounges elsewhere, opening in late 2027, and the city has said Love Field's planned terminal overhaul would make room for lounges.
