Lounge access rules change often β confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.
Austin is a fast-growing airport served heavily by Southwest, American, Delta and United, but AUS lounge access hasn't kept up: as of October 2026 only two airline lounges are open, there's no Centurion Lounge at AUS, and Priority Pass AUS lists nothing at all. The best credit card for Austin flyers is the one that matches your airline β or one whose lounges pay off where you connect.

Quick answer
- Best overall for AUS lounge access: Amex Platinum β includes the Delta Sky Club on Delta flights (10 visits a year) here, and Centurion Lounges at DFW and IAH if you connect
- Best for frequent Delta flyers: Delta SkyMiles Reserve with Sky Club access (15 visits a year; Delta is expanding fast at AUS)
- Best for frequent American flyers: Citi AAdvantage Executive with Admirals Club access β see our Citi AAdvantage guide
- Not at AUS: no Centurion Lounge, no Capital One or Chase Sapphire Lounge, and no Priority Pass AUS locations β so Venture X and Sapphire Reserve only pay off where you connect
- Southwest flyers: nothing yet β Southwest's first lounge here is due in late 2027
Airport snapshot
Everything runs through the Barbara Jordan Terminal. The separate South Terminal (Allegiant and Frontier) closed on April 1, 2026, and those airlines moved into Barbara Jordan's new west gates. Southwest is the biggest carrier, American and Delta are close behind (Delta is building Austin into a major operation), and United serves its hubs. All three airline clubs sit on the mezzanine level. Austin's bank lounges have come and gone: the Chase Sapphire Terrace closed in March 2025 and hasn't been replaced.
Where to go by terminal
- One terminal (Barbara Jordan): every airline, including Allegiant and Frontier since April 2026, flies from here, and all lounges are on the mezzanine.
- East end (gates 1β4): Delta Sky Club. Across from gate 22: Admirals Club and the (closed) United Club.
- Airside: all gates share one secure area, so any lounge is a walk from your gate.
Lounges at AUS
Admirals Club AUS (American Airlines)
- Location: Mezzanine level across from gate 22. American announced a new club of more than 12,000 sq ft β double the current size, with American's first outdoor terrace β on the west side of the terminal; construction starts in 2026, and the current club stays open meanwhile.
- Access: Admirals Club members (including Citi AAdvantage Executive cardholders), American and oneworld premium and elite passengers on eligible itineraries, or a day pass ($79 or 7,900 miles), with a same-day American or oneworld boarding pass.
- Guest policy: Members can bring immediate family or two guests.
- Best for: American flyers β it's the only lounge at AUS that sells day passes right now.
Delta Sky Club AUS
- Location: Mezzanine at the east end of the terminal, near gates 1β4.
- Access: Same-day Delta flight required. Delta SkyMiles Reserve (15 visits per year), Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (10 visits per year; unlimited after $75,000 in annual spend), Sky Club members, Delta One passengers, and Medallion or SkyTeam Elite Plus members. No day passes.
- Guest policy: $50 per guest (up to two); Reserve cardholders also get four free guest passes a year.
- Best for: Delta flyers. Delta has told employees it plans a temporary larger club and an eventual flagship Sky Club at AUS, but hasn't announced dates.
United Club AUS
- Location: Mezzanine across from gate 22, beside the Admirals Club.
- Access: United Club members and United Club card holders with a same-day United or Star Alliance boarding pass. Temporarily closed since July 2026 after mold was found during maintenance; United says it will reopen once remediation is finished.
- Guest policy: United Club card membership covers one adult guest plus dependents.
- Best for: United flyers β once it reopens. Check the United app before planning on it.
Priority Pass at AUS
- None. Priority Pass lists no lounges, restaurants or experiences at Austin-Bergstrom as of October 2026.
- Access: A Priority Pass card from Sapphire Reserve, Venture X or Strata Elite does nothing at AUS β its value for Austin flyers is at the airport on the other end or at your connection.
Coming soon
- Southwest lounge: Austin is one of Southwest's first four lounges (with Baltimore, Honolulu and Nashville), expected in late 2027. Access will come with a new Chase-issued Southwest card launching in 2027, and Southwest says the lounges will tie into Chase Sapphire Reserve's lounge network.
- New Admirals Club: the 12,000+ sq ft west-side club with a terrace (no opening date from American; reported as 2027).

Recommended strategy
- If you fly Delta often from AUS: The Delta Reserve is the most useful card in Austin today β 15 Sky Club visits, plus Centurion access when you fly Delta through a Centurion airport.
- If you fly American often from AUS: Citi AAdvantage Executive for the Admirals Club here and in every DFW terminal on your connection. If you only fly American a few times a year, Strata Elite's four Admirals Club passes cost less.
- If you want one card that covers the best lounges: Amex Platinum. It gets you into the Sky Club when you fly Delta and covers the Centurion Lounges at DFW and IAH if you connect in Texas.
- If you fly Southwest: hold off on paying for lounge access just for Austin. Southwest's AUS lounge isn't due until late 2027, and the card that unlocks it hasn't launched.
No card? Day passes & other options
Right now the Admirals Club is the only AUS lounge selling day passes ($79 or 7,900 miles, same-day American or oneworld ticket). The Delta Sky Club doesn't sell them, and the United Club (which normally sells $59 passes) is closed. Late in the evening the lounges close and options thin out to the food court, so if your flight is delayed, Austin's live-music venues in the terminal are the best fallback.
FAQ
Is there a Centurion Lounge at AUS? No. There's no Centurion Lounge at Austin-Bergstrom. Platinum cardholders can use the Delta Sky Club when flying Delta (10 visits a year), and the nearest Centurion Lounges are at DFW and IAH.
Does Priority Pass work at Austin airport? No. Priority Pass lists no lounges, restaurants or experiences at AUS as of October 2026. The Chase Sapphire Terrace, which was for Sapphire Reserve holders, closed in March 2025.
Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at AUS? Platinum is the only one of the three that gets you into any lounge at Austin itself β the Delta Sky Club, when you're flying Delta. Sapphire Reserve and Venture X open nothing at AUS today; they earn their fees at connecting airports (Sapphire Lounge and Capital One Lounge at DFW, for example). If you rarely fly Delta, none of the three is an Austin card.
Is the United Club at Austin open? Not as of October 2026. It closed in July 2026 after mold was found during maintenance, and United hasn't given a reopening date. Check the United app before you go.
Will Southwest open a lounge at Austin? Yes β Austin is one of Southwest's first four lounges, expected in late 2027. Access will come through a new Chase-issued Southwest credit card launching in 2027.
