Best Credit Cards & Lounge Access for Salt Lake City (SLC) Flyers

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

Salt Lake City is a Delta hub, and since October 2025 it finally has a bank lounge: the Centurion Lounge SLC in Concourse B, which opened the same week as Delta's huge new Sky Club next door. That makes Amex the clear answer to the best credit card for Salt Lake City flyers. Priority Pass SLC gets you no real lounge, only a nap suite and a spa.

Quick answer

  • Best overall for SLC lounge access: Amex Platinum — includes the Centurion Lounge SLC on any airline, plus 10 Delta Sky Club visits a year
  • Best for frequent Delta flyers: Delta SkyMiles Reserve with Sky Club access (15 visits a year) and the Centurion on Delta flights
  • Best value for Priority Pass: none at SLC. Priority Pass SLC means Minute Suites and XpresSpa only, so Capital One Venture X (lounges only) gets you nothing here
  • No Chase Sapphire or Capital One Lounge at SLC — Sapphire Reserve's Priority Pass covers a Minute Suites hour and that's it

Airport snapshot

Delta carries most SLC passengers and uses both concourses. The airport rebuilt itself in 2020 as one terminal with two long, parallel concourses, A and B, and every lounge is airside in one of them. The Centurion and the new 34,000-square-foot Sky Club both sit in Concourse B, while the older Sky Club is in Concourse A. The last batch of new Concourse B gates was scheduled for fall 2026, and a United Club is planned there.

Where to go by terminal

Terminal Airlines Lounges there
Concourse A Delta, plus most other carriers Delta Sky Club, Minute Suites, XpresSpa
Concourse B Delta (and expanding east end) Centurion Lounge, Delta Sky Club (largest)

An underground tunnel links A and B after security, so you can use any lounge whichever concourse you leave from. Concourse B is long, though, so allow 10–15 minutes to walk back to a far gate.

Lounges at SLC

Centurion Lounge SLC (American Express)

  • Location: Concourse B, level 3, next to gate B31. About 18,000 square feet with an outdoor terrace facing the Wasatch Mountains, a fireplace room, a recovery room and showers.
  • Access: Amex Platinum, Business Platinum and Centurion cardholders with a same-day boarding pass on any airline; Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders only when flying Delta. Entry up to 3 hours before departure, or 5 hours on a connection (since July 8, 2026).
  • Guest policy: $50 per adult and $30 per child (2–17), free again after $75,000 in calendar-year spend. Since July 8, 2026, guests must be on the cardholder's flight.
  • Best for: Anyone on a non-Delta flight with a Platinum. It's the only lounge at SLC that doesn't care which airline you fly.

Delta Sky Clubs (Concourses A and B)

  • Location: The new 34,000-square-foot club in the center of Concourse B (opened October 2025, Delta's second-largest Sky Club), and the older 28,000-square-foot club on the upper level of Concourse A.
  • Access: Same-day Delta flight (not Basic Economy). Delta SkyMiles Reserve gets 15 visits a year and Amex Platinum and Business Platinum get 10; both become unlimited after $75,000 in annual spend. Also Sky Club members, Medallion and SkyTeam Elite Plus members, and Delta One passengers. No day passes.
  • Guest policy: $50 per guest, up to two. Reserve cardholders also get four guest passes a year.
  • Best for: Delta flyers. Pick the club in your own concourse rather than the walk.

United Club (planned)

  • Location: East end of Concourse B, about 6,700 square feet. The airport targeted October 2026, when the final Concourse B gates were due. We couldn't confirm it has opened, so check the United app.
  • Access: United Club members and United Club card holders once open.
  • Best for: United flyers, who have no lounge at SLC until it opens.

Priority Pass at SLC

  • Minute Suites — Concourse A near gate A33. One-hour private suite (extra hours cost $40).
  • XpresSpa — Concourse A near gate A15. Short massage-chair or lounger session.
  • Access: These are experiences, not lounges. Amex Platinum and Venture X Priority Pass memberships are lounges-only, so they don't cover them. Sapphire Reserve's Priority Pass has historically included experiences like these, so check the Priority Pass app for what your card covers.

Best credit cards for SLC

Card Annual fee Lounges you get at SLC Guests Best if you…
Amex Platinum $895 Centurion, Sky Clubs (10 visits on Delta) $50 each fly any airline
Delta SkyMiles Reserve $650 Sky Clubs (15 visits), Centurion on Delta $50 each; 4 free passes fly Delta
Amex Business Platinum $895 Same as Platinum $50 each own a business
Chase Sapphire Reserve $795 Minute Suites via Priority Pass n/a mostly fly elsewhere
United Club card $695 United Club once it opens 1 guest fly United

Recommended strategy

  • If you fly Delta often from SLC: The Delta Reserve covers both Sky Clubs and the Centurion. If you're past 15 Sky Club visits a year, either spend $75,000 on the card or switch to a Platinum and use its 10 Sky Club visits plus unlimited Centurion.
  • If you want one card that covers the best lounges: Amex Platinum. It's the only card that gets you into a lounge at SLC on Southwest, United, American or Alaska.
  • If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: There isn't a cheap option here. Venture X and Sapphire Reserve are worth it for their networks elsewhere (Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas), not for SLC.
  • If you fly United: Wait for the Concourse B United Club before paying $695 for the United Club card on SLC's account.

No card? Day passes & other options

Options are thin. Delta doesn't sell Sky Club day passes and the Centurion has no walk-up option. Minute Suites sells hourly stays to anyone (from $65 for the first hour, per Upgraded Points). The USO lounge in Concourse A serves military travelers.

FAQ

Is there a Centurion Lounge at SLC? Yes. It opened in October 2025 in Concourse B next to gate B31. Amex Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders get in on any airline; Delta Reserve cardholders get in when flying Delta.

Does Priority Pass work at SLC? Only for Minute Suites and XpresSpa in Concourse A. There's no Priority Pass lounge at SLC, and memberships that are lounges-only (Amex Platinum, Venture X) get nothing here.

Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at SLC? Amex Platinum, by a wide margin. It's the only one with a lounge at SLC (the Centurion) and it adds 10 Delta Sky Club visits. Sapphire Reserve gets you a Minute Suites hour at most, and Venture X gets nothing. Hold either of those for other airports, not this one.

Can I use the Centurion Lounge if I'm flying Southwest out of Concourse A? Yes, with a Platinum or Business Platinum. Walk through the tunnel to Concourse B and allow time to get back. Delta Reserve cardholders need a Delta flight.
