Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.
Phoenix Sky Harbor is an American Airlines hub and one of Southwest's busiest airports, and both airlines fly from Terminal 4. That's where the good PHX lounge access is: the Centurion Lounge PHX and a Chase Sapphire Lounge are both in T4, which makes Phoenix one of the few airports where the best credit card for Phoenix flyers could be either the Amex Platinum or the Sapphire Reserve.

Quick answer
- Best overall for PHX lounge access: Amex Platinum — includes the Centurion Lounge PHX, both Escape Lounges, Priority Pass PHX and Delta Sky Club visits on Delta
- Best for the Chase Sapphire Lounge: Chase Sapphire Reserve — unlimited visits plus two guests at the Sapphire Lounge in Terminal 4 (the Southwest concourse)
- Best value for Priority Pass: Capital One Venture X — $395 for the Escape Lounge in Terminal 3 (there's no Capital One Lounge at PHX)
- Best for frequent American flyers: Citi AAdvantage Executive with Admirals Club access (three clubs in Terminal 4)
Airport snapshot
PHX has two active terminals. Terminal 4 is by far the bigger: American uses the A and B concourses (north side) and Southwest the south concourses, including the newer South 1 (S1) concourse. Terminal 3 handles Delta, United and other airlines. The terminals are linked by the PHX Sky Train, which runs outside security, so a lounge in the other terminal means clearing security again. Both bank lounges are in T4. There's no secondary airport to consider for most travelers.
Where to go by terminal
| Terminal | Airlines | Lounges there |
|---|---|---|
| 4 North (A, B) | American | Centurion (B22), Escape (B22), 3 Admirals Clubs |
| 4 South (incl. S1) | Southwest | Chase Sapphire Lounge (S1, near gate D11) |
| 3 (E, F) | Delta, United, other airlines | Escape (PP), Sky Club (F8), United Club (E3) |
Terminals 3 and 4 aren't connected airside — the Sky Train runs outside security — so pick a lounge in your own terminal. Inside T4, allow time to walk between the American (north) and Southwest (south) sides.
Lounges at PHX
Centurion Lounge PHX (Amex)
- Location: Terminal 4, upper level across from gate B22 (American's B gates).
- Access: Amex Platinum and Business Platinum on any airline with a same-day boarding pass, within 3 hours of departure; on a layover, within 5 hours of your connection (since July 8, 2026). Delta SkyMiles Reserve holders get in when flying Delta on a ticket bought with the card, though Delta flies from T3.
- Guest policy: $50 per adult and $30 per child; two free guests after $75,000 in Platinum spend in a calendar year. Guests must be on your flight.
- Best for: American and Southwest flyers in T4 with a Platinum.
Chase Sapphire Lounge PHX
- Location: Terminal 4, near gate D11 in the South 1 (S1) concourse, the Southwest side. Opened November 2024; at about 3,500 square feet it's the smallest Sapphire Lounge, with a runway-view window and a food-truck-style kitchen.
- Access: Chase Sapphire Reserve (and Sapphire Reserve for Business, J.P. Morgan Reserve and Ritz-Carlton cards) within 3 hours of departure. Reservations can be made in the app up to 3 hours before your flight. Since August 15, 2026, Sapphire Lounges are no longer part of Priority Pass, so Priority Pass from other cards doesn't get you in; Chase sells day passes (reported at $100).
- Guest policy: Sapphire Reserve holders get unlimited visits for themselves and two free guests; additional guests are $27 each.
- Best for: Southwest flyers.
- Crowds: At about 3,500 sq ft it's the smallest Sapphire Lounge, so reserve in the app at busy times.
Escape Lounge PHX (2 locations)
- Location: Terminal 4, Concourse B (upper level near gate B22); Terminal 3, where the E and F gates meet.
- Access: Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (Escape is a "Centurion Studio Partner"); Priority Pass at the Terminal 3 location only; day passes for any airline.
- Guest policy: Check guest terms for your card before you go; Priority Pass guest rules depend on the card.
- Note: Amex's PHX lounge page says Platinum cardholders can't use both the Centurion Lounge and an Escape Lounge at PHX on the same day.
- Best for: Delta and United flyers in T3 who don't have Sky Club or United Club access.
Admirals Club PHX (3 locations)
- Location: Terminal 4, above gates A7/A9, between A19 and A21, and above B5/B7.
- Access: Same-day American or oneworld flight plus membership, Citi AAdvantage Executive, status or premium ticket; Citi Strata Elite passes work too. Day pass about $79 or 7,900 miles.
- Guest policy: Citi AAdvantage Executive primary cardholders can bring immediate family or up to two guests.
- Best for: American flyers; there's a club near nearly every A and B gate.
Delta Sky Club PHX and United Club PHX
- Location: Terminal 3. The Sky Club is across from gate F8; the United Club is near gate E3.
- Access: Sky Club: same-day Delta flight (no Basic Economy) with membership, status, premium ticket or eligible Amex (Platinum 10 visits a year, Delta Reserve 15, unlimited after $75,000 spend). United Club: same-day United or Star Alliance flight with membership, United Club card or status; day pass about $59.
- Guest policy: Sky Club guests $50 each for Amex cardholders; United Club card members can bring one adult guest plus dependents under 18 (two adults with All Access).
- Best for: Delta and United flyers in T3.
Priority Pass at PHX
- Escape Lounge (Terminal 3) — real lounge, E/F gate junction.
- Chase Sapphire Lounge (Terminal 4 S1) — no longer a Priority Pass lounge since August 15, 2026; only eligible Chase cardholders get in.
- Access: Priority Pass from Amex Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Venture X or Citi Strata Elite. Priority Pass lists no restaurants at PHX, and these cards' memberships are lounge-only anyway.

Recommended strategy
- If you fly American often from PHX: The Citi AAdvantage Executive ($695 since August 23, 2026; existing cardholders pay it at renewal) for three Admirals Clubs. Add a Platinum if you want the Centurion, which is in the same B concourse.
- If you fly Southwest from PHX: The Sapphire Reserve. The Sapphire Lounge is in your concourse and includes two free guests, which the Centurion no longer does without $75,000 in spend.
- If you want one card that covers the best lounges: The Amex Platinum. It covers the Centurion and Escape in T4 and the Escape and Sky Club in T3, so you have an option whichever terminal you fly from.
- If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X gets you the T3 Escape Lounge through Priority Pass. Guests now cost $35 each at Priority Pass lounges, so it's best for solo travelers.
No card? Day passes & other options
The Chase Sapphire Lounge sells $100 day passes. Escape Lounges sell day passes to any airline (cheaper booked in advance). The Admirals Clubs (about $79) and United Club (about $59) sell day passes with a same-day boarding pass on their airline or a partner. The Centurion and Sky Club don't sell day passes. Military travelers can use the USO lounge in Terminal 4 (outside security).
FAQ
Where is the Centurion Lounge at PHX? Terminal 4, on the upper level across from gate B22. If you're flying from Terminal 3, you'd have to take the Sky Train and clear security again, so most T3 travelers use the Escape Lounge or Sky Club instead.
Where is the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Phoenix? Terminal 4, near gate D11 in the South 1 (S1) concourse, used mainly by Southwest. American's A and B gates are on the other side of T4, so allow time to walk back.
Which Priority Pass lounges are at PHX? The Escape Lounge in Terminal 3. The Chase Sapphire Lounge in Terminal 4 left Priority Pass on August 15, 2026, so only Sapphire Reserve and other eligible Chase cardholders get in there.
Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at PHX? It's close between the Platinum and the Sapphire Reserve. The Platinum covers more lounges in both terminals (Centurion, two Escapes, Sky Club visits). The Sapphire Reserve is better for Southwest flyers and for anyone traveling with companions, since two guests get into the Sapphire Lounge free. Venture X is the cheapest of the three but only gets you the T3 Escape Lounge.
