Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.
Raleigh-Durham is served by all the big US airlines plus a large Southwest operation, and RDU lounge access means one club each for American, Delta and United, all in Terminal 2. There's no Centurion Lounge at RDU, no Priority Pass lounge and nothing at all in Southwest's Terminal 1, so the best credit card for Raleigh-Durham flyers is the co-brand card for your main airline.

Airport snapshot
RDU has two terminals. Terminal 1 is Southwest and Avelo; it has no lounge. Terminal 2 handles everyone else — American, Delta, United, JetBlue, Alaska, Air Canada, Air France and more — and holds all three airline clubs. RDU is a spoke rather than a hub for every airline, so most travelers here are connecting onward through Charlotte, Atlanta, Washington or New York, where the lounge choice is much better.
Where to go by terminal
| Terminal | Airlines | Lounges there |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 1 | Southwest, Avelo | None |
| Terminal 2 – Concourse C | American, Delta, others | Admirals Club, Delta Sky Club |
| Terminal 2 – Concourse D | United, others | United Club |
| Terminal 2 landside | All | USO (pre-security, military) |
Terminal 2's C and D gates sit on either side of one checkpoint and connect after security, so you can use any of the three clubs if you're eligible. Terminals 1 and 2 aren't connected airside.
Lounges at RDU
Admirals Club RDU
- Location: Terminal 2, across from gates C1/C3.

- Best for: American flyers, most of them heading to Charlotte or other hubs.
Delta Sky Club RDU
- Location: Terminal 2, across from gate C3.
- Access: Same-day Delta flight. Delta SkyMiles Reserve (15 visits a year), Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (10 visits a year; unlimited after $75,000 in annual spend), Sky Club members, Delta One passengers and eligible Medallion members. No day passes.

Pepsi lounge (announced, Terminal 2)
- Location: Terminal 2. The airport has said it's on track to open by the end of 2026.
- Access: Free to all travelers, planned to be open 24 hours — seating, workspaces, outlets and TVs, with vending machines rather than food service.
- Guest policy: None needed.
- Best for: A quieter seat with power. It isn't a premium lounge.
Priority Pass at RDU
- Access: Priority Pass's directory lists no RDU location as of October 2026, and the former shared-use lounge in Terminal 1 no longer appears. Even if restaurant credits return, premium-card memberships (Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X, Strata Elite) are lounges-only.

Recommended strategy
- If you fly American often from RDU: Citi AAdvantage Executive. You get the RDU club and Admirals Clubs at Charlotte and other connection points.
- If you fly Delta often from RDU: Delta SkyMiles Reserve. Most Delta trips from RDU connect in Atlanta, so the 15 visits a year can run out — count both lounge stops.
- If you fly Southwest from RDU: No card gets you a lounge in Terminal 1, and Southwest's first lounges (from late 2027) aren't planned for Raleigh-Durham.
- If you want one card that covers the best lounges: Amex Platinum makes sense only if you connect through Centurion airports such as Charlotte, Atlanta or New York; at RDU itself it only adds the Sky Club.
No card? Day passes & other options
The Admirals Club sells $79 day passes (or 7,900 miles) to American and oneworld passengers, and the United Club sells $59 day passes when space allows. Delta doesn't sell Sky Club passes. The free Pepsi lounge in Terminal 2 is the no-cost option once it opens.
FAQ
Is there a Centurion Lounge at RDU? No. There's no Centurion Lounge at RDU. Platinum holders can use the Delta Sky Club on Delta flights.
Does Priority Pass work at RDU? No. There's no Priority Pass lounge at RDU, and Priority Pass's own directory lists no RDU location as of October 2026.
Are there lounges in RDU Terminal 1? No. Terminal 1 (Southwest and Avelo) has no lounge, and it isn't connected to Terminal 2 after security.
Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at RDU? Only Platinum gets you into a lounge at RDU, and only the Sky Club on a Delta flight. Sapphire Reserve and Venture X get nothing here because there's no Priority Pass lounge. Pick between them based on your connecting airports — Charlotte, for example, has a Centurion Lounge and Priority Pass options.
