Boston is the closest major US city to Europe — Dublin is under 3,000 miles away — and Logan has nonstops on all three alliances plus Aer Lingus and JetBlue. Delta runs the biggest European network from BOS, JetBlue flies Mint to London and Paris, and British Airways, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, Swiss, Air France, KLM, Iberia, TAP, Turkish and others fly in daily. United doesn't fly to Europe from Boston, so Star Alliance means the European carriers themselves.

Best ways to book
Aer Lingus via Avios or Atmos
Aer Lingus prices Boston–Dublin business at 50,000 Avios off-peak and 60,000 peak one-way, with taxes around $150–$210 each way. Atmos Rewards prices it lower: AwardFares found Boston–Dublin business at 45,000 Atmos points with good availability in July 2026. Avios feeds: Chase, Amex and Bilt directly to Aer Lingus; Capital One via BA; Citi via Qatar. Atmos feeds: Bilt at 1:1.
Air Canada Aeroplan
Partner business is 60,000 points one-way up to 4,000 miles (75,000 for 4,001–6,000) on the June 2026 chart; economy is 32,500 in the shorter band. From Boston that covers London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Lisbon, Madrid and Copenhagen. Rome, Vienna and Istanbul are just over the line. No fuel surcharges on Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, TAP or Turkish. Feeds: Chase, Amex, Capital One and Bilt at 1:1.
Iberia Avios
Off-peak business on Iberia's Boston–Madrid flight prices around 50,500 Avios (59,000 peak) with moderate surcharges, per Frequent Miler's 2026 guide. Madrid is a good base for cheap onward Iberia flights. Feeds: Chase, Amex and Bilt at 1:1; Capital One and Citi via BA or Qatar.
Air France/KLM Flying Blue
Business starts at 60,000 and economy around 25,000, both dynamic. Promo Rewards cut 25% on select gateways each month (September 2026: from 18,750 in economy). Business taxes run about $300–$350 each way. Feeds: Chase, Amex, Capital One, Citi and Bilt at 1:1.
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
Delta One from the East Coast costs 47,500 off-peak or 57,500 peak one-way; Virgin's own Boston–London Upper Class is dynamic from about 29,000. Feeds: Chase, Amex, Capital One, Citi and Bilt at 1:1.
JetBlue TrueBlue
TrueBlue prices from the cash fare, so Mint to London or Paris costs a lot of points at busy times but can drop on sales. Feeds: Chase and Citi at 1:1, Amex at 1:0.8, Capital One at 1:0.6.
British Airways and American
BA's December 2025 repricing put London–New York-zone Club World at 88,000 Avios off-peak in the most-Avios option, with heavy carrier fees; Boston is priced similarly. AAdvantage partner business to Europe is 57,500 (fees are high on BA metal, low on American's own flight). AAdvantage feed: Citi at 1:1.
Sweet spots from Boston
- Aer Lingus business to Dublin for 45,000–50,000. Boston's short hop to Ireland is one of the cheapest lie-flat transatlantic awards anywhere, and Dublin has US preclearance on the way home.
- Aeroplan to Munich or Zurich for 60,000. Boston sits just inside the 4,000-mile band where New York and Washington tip over to 75,000 for Munich.
- Delta One via Virgin for 47,500. Delta has the most Boston–Europe flights, and Virgin prices them far below SkyMiles.
- Iberia to Madrid at about 50,500. Lower fees than BA.

Taxes & surcharges
Aeroplan, United and LifeMiles add no fuel surcharges, so Lufthansa, Swiss and TAP seats from Boston cost little beyond tax. Aer Lingus and Iberia add moderate fees (about $150–$210 each way on Aer Lingus business). BA metal carries the highest fees, and leaving London costs more than arriving because of UK departure tax. Flying Blue sits in the middle.
FAQ
What's the cheapest business class from Boston to Europe on points? Aer Lingus to Dublin — about 45,000 Atmos points or 50,000 Avios off-peak. Aeroplan at 60,000 is the floor for most other European cities.
Does United fly to Europe from Boston? No. For Star Alliance from Boston, use Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, TAP, Turkish or ITA — all bookable with Aeroplan or United miles.
Is JetBlue Mint a good use of points? Only when cash fares are low, because TrueBlue prices from the fare. Compare it with Virgin or Aeroplan before transferring.
When are award seats easiest to find? Late autumn and winter, outside the holidays. Summer is hardest, and several Boston routes are summer-only.
