Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.
Narita is Tokyo's older, farther-out international airport, home to ANA and JAL long-haul flights, United's Tokyo base and most of Japan's low-cost carriers. NRT lounge access for US cardholders is all about Priority Pass and airline status: Delta and American closed their Narita lounges in 2020 when they moved to Haneda, and there's no Centurion Lounge at NRT.

Quick answer
- Best overall for NRT lounge access: Chase Sapphire Reserve — Priority Pass NRT lounges in Terminals 1 and 2 with two free guests (there's no Centurion Lounge at NRT)
- Best value for Priority Pass: Capital One Venture X — the same five Priority Pass lounges for $395
- Best for frequent United flyers: United Club membership or the United Club card for the Terminal 1 United Club
- Best for JAL and American flyers: oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status for the JAL lounges in Terminal 2
Airport snapshot
Terminal 1 handles ANA, United and the Star Alliance, plus SkyTeam carriers such as Korean Air and the budget long-haul carrier Zipair. Terminal 2 is JAL and oneworld. Terminal 3 is the low-cost terminal and has no lounges at all. Haneda (HND), much closer to central Tokyo, now gets Delta, American and most US flights.
Where to go by terminal
| Terminal | Airlines | Lounges there |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 1 | ANA, United, Star Alliance, Korean Air, Zipair | IASS NOA (PP), IASS Executive 1 (PP, landside), United Club, ANA, KAL, Turkish |
| Terminal 2 | JAL, oneworld, China Airlines, Emirates | IASS KoCoo (PP), Aspire (PP), IASS Executive 2 (PP, landside), JAL, Emirates |
| Terminal 3 | Low-cost carriers | None |
Terminals 1 and 2 aren't connected airside; switching means a landside bus or walk and another security check. Terminal 3 is a separate building with no airside link.
Tokyo Haneda (HND): If you can choose, Haneda has the Centurion Lounge and a Delta Sky Club. See our HND guide.
Lounges at NRT
United Club NRT (Terminal 1)
- Location: Terminal 1, Central Building, 3rd floor, airside.
- Access: United Club members and United Club card holders, plus Star Alliance business and first passengers and Star Alliance Gold members on a same-day United or Star flight.
- Guest policy: Set by United; check before you go.
- Best for: United flyers, including those connecting to Guam and Asia.
ANA lounges (Terminal 1)
- Location: ANA Suite Lounge and ANA Lounge in Satellite 5 (4th floor), and an ANA Lounge in Satellite 2.
- Access: ANA and Star Alliance business and first passengers and Star Alliance Gold (United Premier Gold and above). No US credit card opens them.
- Guest policy: Star Alliance rules; Gold members can usually bring one guest flying Star.
- Best for: Star Alliance elites; generally the best lounges in Terminal 1.
JAL lounges (Terminal 2)
- Location: JAL First Class Lounge and Sakura Lounge, Main Building 3rd floor.
- Access: JAL and oneworld business and first passengers and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members (American AAdvantage Platinum and above). Cathay Pacific's lounge, also in Terminal 2, was reported closed for renovation in mid-2026.
- Guest policy: oneworld rules; usually one guest for elites.
- Best for: JAL passengers and oneworld elites.
Delta and American: no lounges
Delta's Sky Club and American's Admirals Club at Narita closed permanently in March 2020 when both airlines moved their Tokyo flights to Haneda. An Amex Platinum or Delta Reserve card gets you no Sky Club at NRT.
Priority Pass at NRT
- Terminal 1: IASS Superior Lounge NOA (Central Building, 3rd floor, airside) and IASS Executive Lounge 1 (5th floor, landside, before security).
- Terminal 2: IASS Superior Lounge KoCoo (Main Building, 4th floor, airside; two-hour stay cap), the Aspire Lounge (Satellite, near the C gates) and IASS Executive Lounge 2 (landside).
- Access: Chase Sapphire Reserve, Venture X, Amex Platinum and Citi Strata Elite include Priority Pass after enrollment; all five are real lounges, not restaurant credits. At NOA and KoCoo, show the Priority Pass app QR code; the lounges don't accept a physical Amex card. Amex's US lounge list shows the four IASS lounges but not Aspire.
- Arrivals tip: The landside IASS Executive Lounges work before security or after you land.
Best credit cards for NRT

| Capital One Venture X | $395 | Priority Pass (5 lounges) | $35 each at Priority Pass | Travel solo on a budget |
| Amex Platinum | $895 | Priority Pass (IASS lounges) | 2 free at Priority Pass | Also fly via Haneda |

Recommended strategy
- If you fly United often from NRT: The United Club card or membership covers the Terminal 1 United Club; Premier Gold status opens the ANA lounges too.
- If you fly JAL or American: oneworld Sapphire status beats any card at Narita.
- If you want one card that covers the best lounges: At NRT alone, a Priority Pass card is all you need; the Platinum only pulls ahead if you also use Haneda.
- If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X, with five Priority Pass lounges for $395; budget $35 per guest.
- If you fly Zipair or a low-cost carrier: Zipair uses Terminal 1, so the IASS NOA works. Terminal 3 has nothing.
No card? Day passes & other options
The Aspire Lounge in Terminal 2 sells walk-up entry. Narita has no 24-hour lounge; most close in the evening, so late departures have few options.
FAQ
Is there a Centurion Lounge at Narita? No. Amex's only Centurion Lounge in Japan is at Haneda, Terminal 3. At Narita, Platinum cardholders use Priority Pass.
Is the United Club at Narita open? Yes. It's in Terminal 1's Central Building on the 3rd floor, open to United Club members and eligible Star Alliance passengers.
Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X at NRT? At Narita they're close to equal, because none has a lounge of its own here and all three rely on Priority Pass. Sapphire Reserve edges it for couples (two free guests), Venture X is cheapest for solo travelers, and the Platinum only pays off if you also fly from Haneda, where its Centurion Lounge is.
Is there a lounge in Narita Terminal 3? No, not airside or landside. The nearest is the landside IASS Executive Lounge 2 in Terminal 2.
Is any Narita lounge open 24 hours? No. Most lounges close in the evening, so plan around your departure time.
