Best Credit Cards & Lounge Access for Jacksonville (JAX) Flyers

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

Jacksonville is a growing mid-size airport with no hub airline, and for now its lounge choice is thin: a Delta Sky Club in Concourse A, and that's it. The Club JAX, the airport's Priority Pass lounge, closed in August 2024 for the new Concourse B project. It's being rebuilt at more than twice its old size, and reopening is expected in 2027. There's no Centurion Lounge JAX and no Chase Sapphire Lounge, and Priority Pass JAX access is on pause, so today the best credit card for Jacksonville flyers is a Delta card or Amex Platinum.

Quick answer

  • Best overall for JAX lounge access: Amex Platinum: Delta Sky Club on Delta flights (10 visits a year), plus Priority Pass once The Club JAX reopens. There's no Centurion Lounge at JAX.
  • Best for frequent Delta flyers: Delta SkyMiles Reserve with 15 Sky Club visits a year and four free guest passes.
  • Best value for Priority Pass: Capital One Venture X: nothing at JAX until The Club reopens, but then it's the cheapest way in.
  • Best for families (once The Club reopens): Chase Sapphire Reserve: Priority Pass with two free guests. There's no Sapphire Lounge here.

Airport snapshot

JAX's terminal has Concourses A and C today. The new three-level Concourse B ($344 million, six gates) is on track to open in December 2026, according to the airport authority. Delta is the only airline with a club at JAX, in Concourse A. The rebuilt Club JAX will sit on a mezzanine just past security as part of the Concourse B project. A new Delta Sky Club has also been reported for the same mezzanine, overlooking the new food hall, but no date has been given.

Where to go by terminal

Concourse B (opening Dec 2026) New gates Club JAX and new Sky Club planned
Concourse C Check your gate None

Use the Sky Club only if you're on a Delta flight that day and can get to Concourse A after security. Check the airport map, because we couldn't confirm the airside route from Concourse C.

Lounges at JAX

Delta Sky Club JAX

  • Location: Concourse A. Amex places it just past Chili's and the Day Spa. The airport lists it as open from early morning to early evening. Check hours in the app.
  • Access: Same-day Delta flight. Delta SkyMiles Reserve (15 visits a year), Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (10 visits a year; then $50 per visit; unlimited after $75,000 in calendar-year spending), Sky Club members, Delta One passengers and eligible Medallion members. Amex Platinum entry is within 3 hours of departure unless you're connecting. Delta doesn't sell day passes.
  • Guest policy: Platinum and Reserve cardholders can bring up to two guests at $50 each, or immediate family under Amex's terms. Reserve cardholders get four free guest passes a year. Children under 2 are free.
  • Best for: Delta flyers. It's the only lounge open at JAX right now.

The Club JAX (closed, expected 2027)

  • Location: The new lounge will be on an elevated mezzanine just past security, reached by two elevators or stairs, as part of the Concourse B project. It's 6,133 square feet with 131 seats, compared with 2,725 square feet and 52 seats before.
  • Access: Before it closed, it took Priority Pass and day passes ($40 at closing). Collinson's Airport Dimensions will run the new one. Day-pass pricing hasn't been announced, and other Club lounges charge roughly $44–$80.
  • Guest policy: Expect your card's Priority Pass guest rules to apply when it reopens.
  • Best for: Southwest, American, United, JetBlue and other non-Delta flyers once it opens.

Priority Pass at JAX

  • None right now. The Club JAX closed in August 2024, and Priority Pass's US directory doesn't list Jacksonville. Ignore older guides that still describe it as open.
  • Access: Once it reopens, Priority Pass from Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X or Citi Strata Elite should get you in. Check the app before you rely on it.

Best credit cards for JAX

Recommended strategy

  • If you fly Delta often from JAX: Delta SkyMiles Reserve. It's the cheapest card that gets you into the only open lounge, and it covers Sky Clubs at Atlanta when you connect.
  • If you want one card that covers the best lounges: Amex Platinum covers the JAX Sky Club on Delta days, Centurion Lounges at Atlanta and Charlotte, and Priority Pass for when The Club JAX returns.
  • If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X ($395). It does nothing at JAX until The Club reopens, so for now its value is at your connecting and destination airports.
  • If you fly Southwest, American or United: No card gets you into a lounge at JAX today. Don't pay for one for Jacksonville until The Club JAX reopens.

No card? Day passes & other options

There's no paid lounge open at JAX right now. Delta doesn't sell Sky Club day passes, and The Club JAX is closed for construction. Military travelers can use the free military lounge in the Center Courtyard, before security.
