Best Credit Cards & Lounge Access for Indianapolis (IND) Flyers

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

Indianapolis is a clean, easy airport with almost nothing for lounge lovers: IND lounge access comes down to a single Delta Sky Club in Concourse A. There's no Centurion Lounge at IND, no Chase Sapphire or Capital One Lounge, and no real Priority Pass IND lounge — just a restaurant credit that premium-card memberships don't include. So the best credit card for Indianapolis flyers is a Delta card if you fly Delta, and otherwise one chosen for the lounges at the airports you fly to.

Quick answer

  • Best overall for IND lounge access: Delta SkyMiles Reserve — 15 Sky Club visits a year at the only lounge in the building, when you fly Delta
  • Best for occasional Delta flyers: Amex Platinum — 10 Sky Club visits a year on Delta flights, plus Centurion Lounges and Priority Pass at other airports
  • Best value for Priority Pass: Capital One Venture X — but note it gets you nothing at IND itself; the value is at your destination and connecting airports
  • Best for Southwest and American flyers: no card unlocks a lounge at IND. Pick for your connecting hubs — see best credit cards for airport lounge access

Airport snapshot

IND's terminal, opened in 2008, has two concourses joined by a connector after security. Southwest is the biggest airline here and flies from Concourse B with American, Alaska and Allegiant; Delta, United and Air Canada use Concourse A. The one lounge, the Delta Sky Club, sits just past security in Concourse A. Indianapolis has no secondary commercial airport.

Where to go by terminal

  • Concourse A (Delta, United, Air Canada): Delta Sky Club, just past the checkpoint — Delta flyers only.
  • Concourse B (Southwest, American, Alaska, Allegiant): no lounge; a Priority Pass restaurant credit near B17 for memberships that include restaurants.
  • Airside connection: you can walk between Concourses A and B through the connector without rescreening — but that only helps if you're eligible for the Sky Club.

Lounges at IND

Delta Sky Club IND

  • Location: Concourse A, just past the security checkpoint.
  • Access: Same-day Delta flight. Delta SkyMiles Reserve (15 visits a year), Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (10 visits a year; unlimited after $75,000 in annual spend), Sky Club members, Delta One/First passengers and eligible Medallion/SkyTeam elites. No day passes and no Priority Pass.
  • Guest policy: $50 per guest, up to two; Reserve cardholders also get four free guest passes a year.
  • Best for: Delta flyers. It closes early in the evening (earlier on Saturdays) — check hours in the Fly Delta app.

Priority Pass at IND

  • The Fan Zone / The Tap — Concourse B, near gate B17. Restaurant credit ($28 off the bill), not a lounge.
  • Access: Priority Pass memberships from Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X and Citi Strata Elite are lounges-only, so they don't cover this restaurant. In practice, those cards get no Priority Pass benefit at IND.

Best credit cards for IND

Delta SkyMiles Platinum $350 None (no Sky Club access) — Want Delta perks, not lounges
Amex Platinum $895 Sky Club (Delta, 10 visits) $50 at Sky Club Fly Delta sometimes, travel widely
Capital One Venture X $395 None at IND — Want lounges at your destination
Chase Sapphire Reserve $795 None at IND — Use Sapphire Lounges elsewhere

Recommended strategy

  • If you fly Delta often from IND: Delta SkyMiles Reserve. It's the only card with a meaningful benefit at IND itself, and it keeps working at Delta hubs like ATL, DTW and MSP.
  • If you want one card that covers the best lounges: Amex Platinum. At IND it matches the Sky Club access of a Delta card (fewer visits), and it adds Centurion Lounges and Priority Pass wherever you land.
  • If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X — accepting that its value comes at other airports, such as the Capital One Lounges at DFW or DEN.
  • If you fly Southwest or American from Concourse B: don't buy a card for IND. Plan for lounges at your connecting airport instead — Admirals Clubs at ORD and CLT if you connect on American.

FAQ

Is there a Centurion Lounge at IND? No. IND has no Centurion, Chase Sapphire or Capital One Lounge. Amex Platinum's only lounge benefit here is the Delta Sky Club on Delta flights (10 visits a year).

Does Priority Pass work at IND? Not for most card members. The only Priority Pass location is a restaurant credit in Concourse B near B17, and the Priority Pass memberships on Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X and Citi Strata Elite don't include restaurants.

Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at IND? Platinum is the only one that does anything at IND — Sky Club entry on Delta flights. Sapphire Reserve and Venture X get no lounge here. If you rarely fly Delta, ignore IND and compare them on the lounges at your usual destinations.

Can I buy a day pass to a lounge at IND? No. Delta doesn't sell Sky Club day passes, and there's no pay-at-the-door lounge at IND. Active-duty military can use the USO lounge near baggage claim.
