Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.
Hamad International is Qatar Airways' hub and the connecting point for its flights between the US, India, Africa and Asia. DOH lounge access for US cardholders is limited: there's no Centurion Lounge at DOH and no bank-branded lounge, so Priority Pass at DOH means the three Al Maha lounges and Sleepover pods. Qatar's own Al Mourjan lounges are the prize, and they come from a business-class ticket or oneworld status, not a credit card.

Quick answer
- Best overall for DOH lounge access: oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status (for example, AAdvantage Platinum or higher) or a Qatar business ticket for Al Mourjan
- Best card option: Any Priority Pass card — Amex Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve or Capital One Venture X — for the Al Maha lounges, as currently listed by Priority Pass
- Best value for Priority Pass: Venture X ($395); guests cost $35
- Best for frequent Qatar and American flyers: Earn AAdvantage status, and book Qatar's Qsuite with Avios or AAdvantage miles to get Al Mourjan on the way
Airport snapshot
Hamad is a single terminal with concourses A to E, all connected airside, so you can walk or take the internal train to any lounge after you land on a connection. Qatar Airways operates almost every flight. Al Mourjan Business has two locations: the original South lounge above Duty Free Plaza and the newer Garden lounge in the northern expansion near the C, D and E gates.
Where to go by terminal
- South (Duty Free Plaza, Concourse A side): Al Safwa First, Al Mourjan Business South, Privilege Club Platinum/Gold/Silver lounges, Al Maha (Priority Pass).
- North (Orchard, C, D and E gates): Al Mourjan Business Garden, Privilege Club Platinum and Gold Lounge North, Al Maha North/Orchard (Priority Pass), Sleepover pods.
- Arrivals: Qatar runs arrival lounges for premium passengers, and Al Maha arrival lounges are bookable through its meet-and-assist service.
Lounges at DOH
Al Mourjan Business Lounges (South and Garden)
- Location: Al Mourjan South above Duty Free Plaza (Concourse A side); Al Mourjan Garden one level above the concourse in the northern expansion.
- Access: Qatar Airways and oneworld business class, and oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members on a oneworld flight (some status flyers in economy may be directed to the Privilege Club lounges instead). Economy passengers can sometimes buy entry through Manage My Booking, subject to capacity.
- Guest policy: Set by Qatar and your status tier.
- Best for: Long connections; the Garden lounge is the newer of the two.
Al Safwa First Lounge
- Location: South side of the terminal, near Duty Free Plaza.
- Access: Qatar first class passengers. Business passengers can sometimes buy entry, space permitting.
- Guest policy: Set by Qatar.
- Best for: First class passengers only; there's no card route in.
Privilege Club status lounges
- Location: Platinum, Gold and Silver lounges on the south side, and a Platinum and Gold lounge in the north.
- Access: Qatar Privilege Club members at the matching tier.
- Guest policy: Set by Qatar.
- Best for: Qatar elites flying economy.
Al Maha Lounges
- Location: Three departure lounges: Southeast, South Node and North/Orchard.
- Access: Paid walk-in or online booking, other lounge programs, and Priority Pass as listed on Priority Pass's DOH page and Amex Platinum's DOH page. A third-party guide reported in May 2026 that the Al Maha lounges dropped Priority Pass, so check the app before you rely on them.
- Guest policy: Through Priority Pass, Platinum and Sapphire Reserve include two free guests; Venture X guests cost $35.
- Best for: Economy passengers on a non-Qatar ticket or without status.
Priority Pass at DOH
- Lounges: Al Maha Lounge (Southeast); Al Maha Lounge (South Node); Al Maha Lounge (North/Orchard).
- Rest and spa: Sleepover pods (North Node, South Node, and a C40 location with evening hours); Be Relax spas in Concourses A, C and D/E.
- Access: Enroll through your card. Sleepover and Be Relax are "experiences," not lounges, so the US premium cards' memberships may not cover them; check the app.
Best credit cards for DOH
| Card | Annual fee | Lounges you get at DOH | Guests | Best if you… |

| Chase Sapphire Reserve | $795 | Al Maha (Priority Pass) | 2 free | Travel with family |

| Citi AAdvantage Executive | $695 (new accounts) | None at DOH; helps earn AA status | — | Chase oneworld status |
Recommended strategy
- If you fly Qatar Airways often: oneworld status is the lounge key. AAdvantage Platinum (oneworld Sapphire) or higher opens Al Mourjan on Qatar flights, and AAdvantage status is easier for many US flyers to earn than Privilege Club status.
- If you want Qatar's best experience: Book business class (Qsuite on many routes) with points. Avios from Chase, Amex, Capital One and Citi transfers work well; see our Avios guide and Qsuite DFW–Hyderabad case study.
- If you're in economy without status: A Priority Pass card covers the Al Maha lounges while they stay on the Priority Pass list; otherwise buy entry.
- If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X matches the expensive cards here for $395.
FAQ
Does Priority Pass work at Doha airport? As of October 2026, Priority Pass's own site lists three Al Maha lounges plus Sleepover pods and spas, and Amex lists the same Al Maha lounges for US Platinum cardholders. One guide reported the Al Maha lounges left the program in May 2026, so confirm in the Priority Pass app before your trip.
Can I get into the Al Mourjan lounge with a credit card? No. Al Mourjan requires Qatar or oneworld business class or oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status on a oneworld flight. Economy passengers can sometimes buy entry through Qatar.
Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X at DOH? They're identical at Doha: each gives Priority Pass access to the Al Maha lounges. Venture X is the cheapest way in, and the Sapphire Reserve's free guests help families. None of them opens Qatar's own lounges.
Is there a Centurion Lounge in Doha? No. Amex has no Centurion Lounge in the Middle East; Platinum cardholders get the Priority Pass options above.
