The Centurion Lounge Dallas Fort Worth is upstairs in Terminal D, across from gate D12, and it's reachable airside from every DFW terminal on the Skylink train. It's one of the oldest and busiest Centurion Lounges, which is why Amex is expanding it by about 50% for 2027. Until then, it's still a strong lounge for Platinum holders — but at peak times, Terminal D now has several backups a few gates away.

Guest policy
Since July 8, 2026, guests must be on your flight. Platinum and Business Platinum holders pay $50 per adult and $30 per child aged 2–17; children under 2 are free. Spending $75,000 on the card in a calendar year unlocks two complimentary guests per visit. Delta Reserve holders can bring up to two guests at $50 each.
At DFW the guest fee is a real decision point. The Chase Sapphire Lounge DFW, a few gates down at D25, lets Sapphire Reserve holders bring two guests free — so a couple or family traveling together may be better served there.
What it's like
History and size. The DFW lounge opened in 2013 at about 9,000 square feet and was expanded and renovated in 2018 to about 12,500. Upgraded Points lists conference space and semi-private workspaces.
Food and bar. Expect the standard Centurion setup: a chef-designed hot buffet and a full bar with complimentary cocktails, wine and spirits. Menus rotate, so check the Amex app for what's being served.
Crowds. This is the lounge's weak spot. TPG called long waits and crowding a years-long problem for Centurion Lounges and framed the DFW expansion as the fix. With American's largest hub feeding every terminal into D, the lounge gets full at peak times, and Amex uses a digital waitlist in the app when it hits capacity.
The 2027 expansion
Amex announced on April 1, 2026, that it will grow the DFW lounge by about 50%. Plans include a second full-service bar, a walk-up ice cream window, a new dining area, more seating and a Western/desert-inspired design. A Texas filing reported by Community Impact lists the project at about 18,000 square feet, roughly $35 million, with estimated completion on November 19, 2027. TPG described it as nearly doubling the lounge.
Amex hasn't said whether the lounge will close during construction or whether cardholders would get an alternative space. If you're flying DFW in 2027, check the Amex app before you go.
Getting there
The lounge is on the upper level of Terminal D, across from gate D12; look for the elevator up from the concourse. All five DFW terminals connect airside by Skylink, which runs in both directions, so American flyers from A, B, C or E can use it without rescreening. Budget the train ride both ways plus the walk to your gate, and give yourself more margin if you're coming from the far end of A or E.
Nearby alternatives
Terminal D is now the best lounge concourse in the country for cardholders:

- Capital One Lounge DFW: Near D22. Venture X; guests $45 unless you hit $75,000 in spend.

- The Club DFW (Priority Pass): Near D27.
