The Capital One Spark Miles for Business has long been the simplest business miles card anywhere: flat 2x transferable miles on every purchase, no categories, no caps. In April 2026 Capital One rebranded it as the Venture Business β same 2x foundation, new name, new credits β and existing Spark Miles cardholders keep their cards as-is. Whichever name is on your card, the pitch is identical: put all business spend on one card and let it pile up a currency that transfers to Flying Blue, Aeroplan, Avios and a dozen more.

The April 2026 rebrand, in plain terms
- Existing Spark Miles cardholders keep their card, their 2x earning and their transfer access. Nothing you hold gets worse.
- New applicants get the Venture Business β same 2x everywhere and 5x on Capital One Business Travel bookings, plus two new annual credits (below).
- The first-year fee waiver is gone. Spark Miles historically waived its $95 fee in year one; the Venture Business charges it from the start.
- To get the new credits, an existing Spark Miles holder would need to apply for the new card β they aren't added to old accounts automatically.
What the points are worth
We value Capital One miles at 1.85Β’ each. These are the same fully transferable miles the personal Venture X earns β 1:1 to most airline partners β with the standard 1Β’ floor: erase any travel purchase or book through Capital One Travel at a penny per mile. No premium pairing is needed; the miles transfer on their own. At 1.85Β’, flat 2x is an effective 3.7% back in travel value on every business dollar.
Where your points can go

Earning rates
| Rate | Category |
|---|---|
| 5x | Hotels, vacation rentals & rental cars booked through Capital One Business Travel |
| 2x | Everything else β every purchase, no cap |
Inventory, ads, fuel, software, the tax bill on a card-friendly processor β it's all 2x. For a business with diffuse spending that never fits neatly into bonus categories, a flat 2x transferable rate is quietly the strongest simple answer on the market.
Benefits & credits
Perks below reflect the current Venture Business card β verify each before you count on it (legacy Spark Miles accounts don't get the new credits):
- $50 annual travel credit for bookings through Capital One Business Travel (new with the rebrand).
- $50 annual statement credit for qualifying software or advertising purchases (new with the rebrand). Together they offset the $95 fee for most businesses.
- Global Entry / TSA PreCheck credit β up to $120 every ~4 years.
- Free employee cards, all feeding one miles balance.
- No foreign transaction fees.
- Miles pool freely with your other Capital One accounts β including a personal Venture X.
Best uses (sweet spots), with examples
Every example uses the same formula: (cash price β taxes) Γ· miles Γ 100 = cents per mile (CPP).
1. A quarter of business spend β business class. $10,000/month on the card = 20,000 miles/month. Three months funds a 60,000-mile Aeroplan Star Alliance seat to Europe worth ~$4,200 + ~$200 taxes: (4,200 β 200) Γ· 60,000 Γ 100 = 6.67Β’ per mile.
2. Flying Blue, the fee-eraser. Transfer 50,000 miles for a ~$4,000 lie-flat seat + ~$250 taxes: 7.5Β’ per mile β one award pays the $95 fee for decades.
3. Pool with your personal Venture X. Move business miles into your Venture X account (or vice versa) and redeem from one big balance β a two-card setup that keeps business and personal spending separate but the reward pot unified.
4. The floor: erase business travel. A $500 flight erased with 50,000 miles = 1.0Β’ β no research, and it works even in your busiest week.
Fine print worth knowing
- Business card, business credit: sole proprietors can apply with their own name and SSN; Capital One business cards typically don't report routine activity to personal credit bureaus, which also means they don't add to Chase's 5/24 count.
- Tiered launch offers with a $30,000 spend requirement are aimed at real business volume β take the second tier into account only if you'd hit it naturally.
- Most transfers are 1:1, but a few ratios differ (Accor is 2:1) β confirm the live ratio and transfer only after finding award space.
- Miles don't expire while the account is open.
Who should get it
Get the Spark Miles / Venture Business if you want business earning with zero category management and real transfer partners behind it. It's Capital One's answer to the Ink Business Unlimited β with the crucial difference that its miles transfer without needing a premium card alongside.
Compare the Ink Business Preferred if your spend concentrates in travel, shipping or advertising (3x there, and Chase's Hyatt/United partners may suit you better). If your business travels heavily, weigh the Venture X Business tier and its lounge access before deciding β and if you're mapping the whole setup, run it through Points Path and track every balance in your Rewards Wallet.
Bottom line
Rebrand aside, this card's job hasn't changed: flat 2x transferable miles on everything a business buys, a 1Β’ floor so nothing is wasted, and β in its new Venture Business form β $100 of annual credits against a $95 fee. Existing Spark Miles holders should sit tight; new applicants get the same engine with fresher trim. Either way, it's the simplest way for a business to fund premium-cabin travel from ordinary expenses.
