Best Credit Cards & Lounge Access for Anchorage (ANC) Flyers

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

Anchorage is Alaska Airlines country, with Delta, United and American adding mainland flights and a summer surge of seasonal service. ANC lounge access means one lounge: the Alaska Lounge near gate C1. The best credit card for Anchorage flyers is the Atmos Rewards Summit, whose lounge passes work here. There's no Priority Pass ANC lounge and no Centurion Lounge at ANC.

Quick answer

  • Best overall for ANC lounge access: Atmos Rewards Summit — eight Alaska Lounge day passes a year (two per quarter) for the only lounge at ANC
  • Best for frequent American flyers: Citi AAdvantage Executive — Admirals Club membership also opens the Alaska Lounge on American, Alaska or Hawaiian flights. See our Citi AAdvantage guide
  • Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X: none gets you into a lounge at ANC. There's no Centurion, Sapphire, Capital One or Priority Pass lounge.
  • Best for frequent Alaska flyers: an Alaska Lounge membership ($595 a year), if you pass through ANC and Seattle often

Airport snapshot

Passenger flights use the South Terminal, split into Concourses A, B and C. The North Terminal handles seasonal international charters and some international arrivals, and the two terminals aren't connected airside. The Alaska Lounge is in Concourse C, Alaska's home concourse, and it's the only commercial lounge in the airport. Delta, United and American have no clubs at ANC.

Where to go by terminal

Terminal Airlines Lounges there
South – Concourse C Alaska Alaska Lounge (near gate C1)
South – Concourses A & B Most other airlines (check your gate) None
North Seasonal international and charter flights None

The North and South terminals aren't connected after security. If you're flying from Concourse A or B and want the Alaska Lounge, check the airport map for an airside route before you count on it.

Lounges at ANC

Alaska Lounge ANC

  • Location: South Terminal, Concourse C, near gate C1. It was expanded in early 2025 to hold about 140 guests, with apron views.
  • Access: Alaska Lounge and Lounge+ members; Atmos Rewards Summit day passes (with a same-day boarding pass on Alaska, Hawaiian, a oneworld airline or another Alaska partner); Admirals Club members on American, Alaska or Hawaiian flights; paid first or business on Alaska or Hawaiian when one flight on the trip is 2,000+ miles; and eligible oneworld elites on qualifying itineraries.
  • Guest policy: Alaska Lounge members can bring immediate family or up to two guests. Each Summit pass covers one person, so a companion needs a second pass.
  • Best for: Alaska flyers. It serves seasonal food, local Kaladi Brothers coffee, and West Coast wine and beer.
  • Crowds: When the lounge reaches capacity, Alaska runs a Waitwhile virtual waitlist, so expect waits at peak bank times.

Priority Pass at ANC

  • None. The Alaska Lounge has moved in and out of Priority Pass over the years (it left in 2019 and was listed again in 2021), but ANC isn't in Priority Pass's current US list. There are no Priority Pass restaurants either.
  • Access: Priority Pass from Amex Platinum, Sapphire Reserve, Venture X or Citi Strata Elite does nothing at Anchorage. Use it at your connecting airport (Seattle has several options).

Best credit cards for ANC

Atmos Rewards Summit $395 Alaska Lounge (8 passes/yr) 1 pass each Fly Alaska a few times a year
Citi AAdvantage Executive $695 Alaska Lounge via Admirals membership Check at desk Fly American or Alaska often
Amex Platinum $895 None at ANC — Connect via Seattle or Lower 48
Chase Sapphire Reserve $795 None at ANC — Connect via PP airports
Capital One Venture X $395 None at ANC — Connect via PP airports

Summit passes are issued two at a time on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 and expire at the end of the quarter. Only the primary cardholder gets them, but unused passes can be gifted.

Recommended strategy

  • If you fly Alaska often from ANC: Get the Atmos Summit for its eight passes. If you fly more than about eight lounge days a year, an Alaska Lounge membership ($595) or Lounge+ ($795) covers every visit.
  • If you fly American, or Alaska plus American: Citi AAdvantage Executive gives Admirals Club membership, which opens the Alaska Lounge on American, Alaska or Hawaiian flights and Admirals Clubs at American's hubs.
  • If you want one card that covers the best lounges: Amex Platinum is the broadest nationwide, but Anchorage is a dead zone for it. Pair a Summit card with it if ANC is your home airport.
  • If you fly Delta or United from ANC: No lounge here for you. Your card's value starts at Seattle, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Denver or Chicago.

No card? Day passes & other options

Alaska sells $65 single-entry lounge passes at select Alaska Lounges when space allows; ask at the ANC desk. A paid first-class ticket qualifies only when one flight on your trip is 2,000 miles or more, so a nonstop Anchorage–Seattle first-class ticket alone doesn't get you in, while Anchorage–Honolulu does.

FAQ

Is there a Centurion Lounge at ANC? No. There's no Centurion Lounge at ANC, and Amex Platinum has no lounge access at Anchorage.

Does Priority Pass work at Anchorage airport? No. Priority Pass's current US directory doesn't list ANC, and there are no Priority Pass restaurants. Older articles saying the Alaska Lounge takes Priority Pass are out of date.

Can I use the Atmos Summit lounge passes at ANC? Yes. Summit passes work at Alaska Lounges, including ANC, with a same-day boarding pass on Alaska, Hawaiian, a oneworld airline or another Alaska partner. Each pass covers one person for the full travel day.

Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at ANC? None of them gets you into a lounge at ANC. If Anchorage is your home airport, the Atmos Summit or Citi AAdvantage Executive is what actually opens the Alaska Lounge.
