The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (Chase, $199) earns the same outrageously valuable currency as the personal card β Hyatt points, which we value at 1.7Β’, the richest hotel currency there is β but swaps the personal card's anniversary free night for business-shaped perks: $100 in annual Hyatt credits, adaptive 2x categories, and the fastest spend-to-status pipeline Hyatt offers. It suits a business owner who's serious about Hyatt, especially one eyeing Globalist. For the personal card, see the World of Hyatt card guide.

What the points are worth
We value World of Hyatt points at 1.7Β’ each β more than double Marriott's 0.8Β’ β because Hyatt still runs a capped award chart (Categories 1β8, now with five pricing levels per category after the May 2026 overhaul). The full chart mechanics, the CPP formula and worked redemptions are in the personal card guide and the World of Hyatt programme guide; the headline is that ordinary Category 1β4 redemptions routinely return 2Β’+, and flagships like Alila Ventana Big Sur go higher.
Where your points can go
Hyatt points book Hyatt hotels β including Ziva/Zilara all-inclusives and select Small Luxury Hotels β and nothing else, which is fine, because that's where the value is. The only transferable currency that feeds Hyatt is Chase Ultimate Rewards (1:1, instant). For a business, the natural pairing is the Ink Business Preferred: earn flexible UR on it, transfer to Hyatt when an award appears, and let this card handle the status math.
Earning rates
| Rate | Category |
|---|---|
| 4x | Hyatt hotels (stacks with ~5x base member earning β up to ~9x total on stays) |
| 2x | Your top three spend categories each quarter β automatic, no enrollment (from a list including dining, shipping, airline tickets bought direct, local transit/commuting, social media & search advertising, car rentals, gas stations, and internet/cable/phone) |
| 2x | Fitness club & gym memberships |
| 1x | Everything else |
That adaptive top-three structure is quietly excellent for a business: whatever you spent most on β ad buys, shipping, fuel β earned 2x without you choosing anything. At 1.7Β’/point, 2x is an effective 3.4% back in Hyatt value.
Benefits & credits
- Up to $100 in Hyatt statement credits per year β spend $50+ at any Hyatt property and get a $50 credit, twice per cardmember year. Two hotel bar tabs effectively halve the fee.
- 5 tier-qualifying nights for every $10,000 spent in a calendar year β uncapped spend-to-status (see below).
- 10% of redeemed points back for the rest of the year once you've spent $50,000 on the card in a calendar year (rebate capped β verify the current cap in your benefits guide).
- Discoverist status for you β and you can gift Discoverist to up to 5 employees.
- Hyatt Leverage access β Hyatt's corporate discount programme for small businesses.
- Primary auto rental collision damage waiver, trip cancellation/interruption insurance (up to $1,500 per person / $6,000 per trip), roadside assistance, purchase protection and extended warranty.
- No foreign transaction fees.
Notably absent: no anniversary free night. That's the personal card's headline perk, and this card simply doesn't have it β plan accordingly.
Best uses (sweet spots), with examples
1. Globalist by spreadsheet. Every $10,000 of spend = 5 tier-qualifying nights, so $120,000 of annual card spend = 60 nights = Globalist β Hyatt's top tier and arguably the best elite status in hotels (free breakfast, club lounges, suite upgrades even on awards, waived resort fees, 4 p.m. checkout) β without sleeping a single night. For a business that already runs six figures through cards, that's a genuinely rational path no other hotel programme matches.
2. The $100 credit as a fee-halver. Two $50+ charges at any Hyatt β a dinner, a bar tab, a room incidental β return $100 of the $199 fee. With even occasional Hyatt stays this happens by accident.
3. High-value redemptions, same as ever. A Category 4 property at $350/night for ~15,000 points on a mid-level date is 2.33Β’/point. The 10% rebate after $50K spend sweetens every such redemption for the rest of the year.
4. UR top-ups via Ink. Short 6,000 points for an award? Transfer instantly from an Ink Business Preferred. The combination β Ink earns flexible, Hyatt Business earns status β is the strongest two-card hotel setup in the business space.
Fine print worth knowing
- Chase 5/24 applies to approval β though as a business card it won't add to your own 5/24 count afterward.
- The $199 fee is not waived the first year, and there's no free night to mechanically offset it β the credits and status pipeline have to do the work.
- The $50 credits require $50+ single purchases at Hyatt properties, twice per cardmember year β they don't roll over.
- Tier-qualifying nights from card spend combine with nights from stays (and with a personal Hyatt card's, per programme rules β verify your combination).
- Points don't expire with activity every ~24 months.
Who should get it
Get the Hyatt Business card if Hyatt is your chain and either (a) your business spend is large enough that 5 nights per $10K meaningfully advances Milestone Rewards and Globalist, or (b) you'll reliably trigger the $100 in credits and value Discoverist for your team.
Get the personal World of Hyatt card instead (or first) if you just want the cheapest ticket into Hyatt points β its ~$95 fee buys an anniversary free night this card lacks. Serious Hyatt loyalists often hold both; map yours in your Points Path.
Bottom line
The World of Hyatt Business card is the status machine of the Hyatt family: no free night, but adaptive 2x earning, $100 of easy credits, and an uncapped 5-nights-per-$10K engine that can spreadsheet a business owner all the way to Globalist. Feed redemptions from an Ink's Ultimate Rewards, and keep score in your Rewards Wallet.
