Best Credit Cards & Lounge Access for Milwaukee (MKE) Flyers

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

Milwaukee Mitchell is a mid-size airport where Southwest, Delta, American and United all compete, and many locals also drive to Chicago O'Hare. MKE lounge access comes down to one room: the Delta Sky Club in Concourse D. There's no Centurion Lounge MKE, no Chase Sapphire Lounge and no Priority Pass MKE location, so the best credit card for Milwaukee flyers is a Delta card or Amex Platinum. Otherwise, pick a card for where you connect.

Quick answer

  • Best overall for MKE lounge access: Amex Platinum: Delta Sky Club on Delta flights (10 visits a year). There's no Centurion Lounge at MKE.
  • Best for frequent Delta flyers: Delta SkyMiles Reserve with 15 Sky Club visits a year and four free guest passes.
  • Best value for Priority Pass: Capital One Venture X, but only for your connecting or destination airport. Priority Pass lists nothing at MKE.
  • If you fly Southwest or United from Concourse C: No card gets you into a lounge at MKE. Put your money toward lounges at the other end.

Airport snapshot

MKE has one terminal with gates in Concourses C and D (plus Concourse E). The airport's terminal guide puts Southwest, Sun Country and United in Concourse C, and Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue and Spirit in Concourse D. The only lounge is Delta's Sky Club in Concourse D. For military travelers there's also a USO lounge.

Where to go by terminal

Terminal Airlines Lounges there
Concourse C Southwest, Sun Country, United None
Concourse D Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Spirit Delta Sky Club
Concourse E No airlines listed None

The Sky Club only admits people flying Delta that day, so walking over from Concourse C won't help unless you're on a Delta ticket. Check the airport map for the walk between C and D after security.

Lounges at MKE

Delta Sky Club MKE

  • Location: Concourse D. Check hours in the app. It typically closes in the early evening.
  • Access: Same-day Delta flight. Delta SkyMiles Reserve (15 visits a year), Amex Platinum and Business Platinum (10 visits a year; then $50 per visit; unlimited after $75,000 in calendar-year spending), Sky Club members, Delta One passengers and eligible Medallion members. Amex Platinum entry is within 3 hours of departure unless you're connecting. Delta doesn't sell day passes.
  • Guest policy: Platinum and Reserve cardholders can bring up to two guests at $50 each, or immediate family under Amex's terms. Reserve cardholders get four free guest passes a year. Children under 2 are free.
  • Best for: Delta flyers, especially early-morning departures to Atlanta, Detroit and Minneapolis.

USO lounge

  • Location: Concourse D.
  • Access: Active-duty military and eligible families with ID and a boarding pass. It's free, but it's not open to the general public.

Priority Pass at MKE

  • None. Priority Pass's US directory doesn't list Milwaukee, and there are no Priority Pass restaurants here.
  • Access: Sapphire Reserve, Venture X and Citi Strata Elite get you nothing at MKE. Use their Priority Pass at your connecting or destination airport, or in O'Hare's Terminal 5 if you fly internationally from Chicago.

Best credit cards for MKE

Delta SkyMiles Reserve $650 Sky Club (15 visits) $50 each; 4 free passes Fly Delta often
Amex Platinum $895 Sky Club on Delta (10 visits) $50 each Fly Delta + others
Capital One Venture X $395 None at MKE — Want lounges at hubs
Chase Sapphire Reserve $795 None at MKE — Fly intl from ORD T5

Recommended strategy

  • If you fly Delta often from MKE: Delta SkyMiles Reserve. It's the cheapest card that opens the only lounge in Milwaukee, and its 15 visits also cover Sky Clubs at Detroit and Minneapolis when you connect.
  • If you want one card that covers the most lounges: Amex Platinum, but only if you fly Delta from MKE and use Centurion Lounges at hubs like Atlanta, Charlotte or New York. There's no Centurion at MKE or at O'Hare.
  • If you want strong lounges at a lower cost: Venture X ($395) for Priority Pass and Capital One Lounges at your connection, accepting that you'll get nothing at MKE itself.
  • If you fly Southwest or United from Concourse C: Skip lounge cards for MKE. A United Club card makes sense only if you connect through United hubs a lot (see our United Club access guide).

Chicago O'Hare (ORD): Many Milwaukee travelers fly out of O'Hare for long-haul and international trips. O'Hare has United Clubs and Admirals Clubs, plus Priority Pass lounges and a Delta Sky Club in international Terminal 5. There's no Centurion Lounge there either. See our ORD airport lounges guide.

No card? Day passes & other options

There's no paid lounge at MKE. Delta doesn't sell Sky Club day passes, and there's no independent lounge to buy into. Military travelers can use the USO lounge in Concourse D.

FAQ

Is there a Centurion Lounge at MKE? No. There's no Centurion Lounge at MKE, and Chicago O'Hare doesn't have one either. At Milwaukee, Amex Platinum gets you into the Delta Sky Club on Delta flights.

Does Priority Pass work at MKE? No. Priority Pass doesn't list any lounge or restaurant at Milwaukee Mitchell. Use your membership at your connecting or destination airport.

Can I use the Delta Sky Club at MKE if I'm flying Southwest or United? No. Card and membership access to Sky Clubs requires a same-day Delta flight (or an eligible SkyTeam partner flight for members), and Delta doesn't sell day passes.

Amex Platinum vs Sapphire Reserve vs Venture X: which is best at MKE? Only Platinum gets you anything at MKE, the Sky Club on Delta flights.
