This redemption is gone. The play this guide taught — a ~$600-a-night, two-bedroom vacation-rental villa for 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points a night — ran on Wyndham's whole-home rental program with Vacasa, and that partnership has ended: the last new bookings were taken 30 November 2025, with all stays checked out by 31 January 2026. Wyndham's own redemption page no longer lists vacation rentals at all. We're keeping this page up so you know what happened, what the numbers really were, and what you can still do with Wyndham points.

The math (historical — no longer bookable)
This is what the redemption looked like when we first wrote it up:

The formula is always (cash − taxes/fees) ÷ points × 100. Two honesty notes on that table. First, even before the program shut down, Wyndham repriced it on 26 March 2024: rentals averaging over $250/night cost 30,000 points per bedroom per night, not 15,000. Our own example — $600/night across 2 bedrooms is $300 per bedroom — would actually have cost 60,000 points/night, or about 1.0¢ per point, half the advertised value. The "regardless of the cash rate" flat rate was the whole edge, and the repricing removed it for exactly the high-cash-rate rentals this strategy targeted. The award structure today: Wyndham hotels still price on a simple three-tier chart — 7,500 / 15,000 / 30,000 points per night. Wyndham Vacation Club condos start from 7,500 points per bedroom, Caesars hotels are bookable with points, and UK-based Cottages.com rentals run 15,000 points per bedroom (phone booking only). Vacation rentals in the old Vacasa sense are no longer offered — confirm current options at wyndhamrewards.com.
How to earn the points
Wyndham points remain transferable from two banks 1:1, which still makes the program reachable:
- Capital One miles → Wyndham Rewards, 1:1 (instant).
- Citi ThankYou → Wyndham Rewards, 1:1 (instant).
- The Wyndham Rewards Earner cards — high earn rates and an annual points bonus (verify current lineup).
- Base stay earning — Wyndham gives a generous flat 10 points per $1 (min. 1,000 per qualified stay) at its hotels.
Before you transfer anything: the villa redemption this page was built around no longer exists. Transfers are one-way and irreversible, so only move Capital One or Citi points to Wyndham once you've confirmed a currently bookable redemption — a hotel night, a Vacation Club condo, or (in the UK) a Cottages.com stay — at a price you like.
What you can still book with Wyndham points
- Hotels on the 7,500 / 15,000 / 30,000 chart. Search wyndhamrewards.com with points pricing on, then divide the cash rate by the points to find your CPP. A tier-one property with a high cash rate is where the chart still overdelivers.
- Wyndham Vacation Club condos — from 7,500 points per bedroom. These are resort condos rather than standalone homes, but they're the closest surviving relative of the old rental play.
- Caesars hotels — Wyndham points work at Caesars properties; check the live points rate against the cash rate.
- Cottages.com (UK only) — 15,000 points per bedroom per night, booked by phone. Only relevant if you're travelling in the UK.
- Do the CPP math every time. With the flat-rate villa arbitrage gone, treat 0.9¢–1¢ per point as the realistic bar and book only when a redemption clears it.
What happened to the villas
The factual history: Wyndham Rewards let members redeem points for whole-home vacation rentals — houses, condos, and villas booked through Vacasa — at a flat per-bedroom points rate. In March 2024 the flat rate split into tiers (15,000 per bedroom under ~$250/night average, 30,000 above), and in late 2025 the Vacasa partnership ended altogether: last bookings 30 November 2025, final checkouts by 31 January 2026. Wyndham's redemption page today lists hotels, Vacation Club, Caesars, and Cottages.com — no vacation rentals.
Wyndham never had resort-style elite perks on rentals; the value was purely the cash-to-points arbitrage, and that arbitrage is what disappeared.
Is it worth it?
Not any more — not this play, anyway. The ~2.0¢ per point villa redemption is unbookable, and even in its final years the March 2024 repricing had cut the real value on high-rate rentals to roughly 1.0¢. What's left is a decent-but-ordinary hotel currency: a 0.9¢ baseline, a simple three-tier chart, and occasional wins when a cheap-tier property carries a high cash rate. If you hold Capital One or Citi points, there's no longer a Wyndham-shaped reason to convert them speculatively — compare against Hyatt and your other transfer options first, and move points only for a specific, confirmed stay.
