Chase Sapphire Lounge Philadelphia (PHL): Access, Guests & Review

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge at Philadelphia sits in the connector between Terminals D and E, just past the Terminal D checkpoint, and at roughly 20,000 square feet it's one of the largest bank lounges in the country. With the Centurion Lounge closing on Oct. 16, 2026 for an expansion that runs to the end of 2027, it's now the best lounge most credit-card holders can use at PHL, as long as that card is a Sapphire Reserve.

How to get in

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: Unlimited visits for primary cardholders and authorized users. Show your physical card or Chase-issued Priority Pass Select membership with a same-day boarding pass on any airline.
  • J.P. Morgan Reserve and Ritz-Carlton cards: Same access. The Ritz-Carlton card is closed to new applicants.
  • Sapphire Reserve for Business: Primary cardmembers only.
  • Connecting passengers: Chase's pages say three hours before departure. With the Priority Pass exit, Chase said connecting passengers could come in up to five hours before their connection, but some travelers report being held to three.
  • Who no longer gets in: Since Aug. 15, 2026, the lounge is out of Priority Pass, which ended the free annual visit and $75 paid visits for Amex Platinum, Venture X and other Priority Pass members. That matters more at PHL than anywhere: Priority Pass now lists no real lounge at the airport. The Sapphire Preferred doesn't get in.

Guest policy

Two guests per visit are free, additional guests are $27 each, charged to your card, and children under 2 are free. Authorized users on the Sapphire Reserve get the same two free guests. Chase doesn't publish a separate guest allowance for Reserve for Business on its lounge page. With the Centurion closed, the closest comparison is the Delta Sky Club next door, where Amex cardholders pay $50 per guest and need a Delta flight.

What it's like

Philadelphia is Chase's showpiece for "more than a lounge." Launch coverage from View from the Wing and The Bulkhead Seat described a beer garden, a retro game room, bookable rest pods and a wellness area that offered facials. Chase's own page lists seasonal, locally inspired menus, craft cocktails, curated wine, local beer and coffee, a wellness area, family and nursing rooms, and digital ordering for food, drinks and amenities, all included with entry.

There are two shower suites on the far side of the lounge, reserved through the wellness reception. One detailed review (The Pointy Miles) noted the main men's restroom is small for a lounge this size. Big windows give it plenty of light.

Space: Size works in its favor; it's several times bigger than the 3,500 sq ft Phoenix lounge. Non-Chase Priority Pass members were removed on Aug. 15, 2026. If there's a line at the door, join the waitlist in the Chase app.

Getting there

Clear security at the Terminal D checkpoint; the lounge is in the D/E connector just beyond it. It's closest for Delta and United (Terminal D) and Southwest, Frontier and JetBlue (Terminal E). PHL's terminals connect airside by walkway, so American flyers in B and C can walk over, and A-West or F passengers can too if they leave time; A-West to F is a long walk, so budget 15 to 20 minutes from the far ends.

Nearby alternatives

  • Centurion Lounge PHL (A-West): closed from Oct. 16, 2026, expected back by the end of 2027 at about double the size.
  • Delta Sky Club: same D/E connector, for Delta flyers with Sky Club access, including Platinum (10 visits a year) and Delta Reserve (15).
  • Admirals Clubs: A-West, the B/C connector and Terminal F, for American flyers with membership or a day pass.
  • Escape Lounge (Terminal D): reported for "by the end of the year"; Amex Platinum access once it opens.

FAQ

Where is the Chase Sapphire Lounge at PHL? In the connector between Terminals D and E, right after the Terminal D security checkpoint. All PHL terminals connect airside, so you can reach it from any gate.

Can I still use Priority Pass at the PHL Sapphire Lounge? Only with a Chase-issued Priority Pass from an eligible card. Since Aug. 15, 2026, other issuers' Priority Pass memberships, and the old one-free-visit-a-year perk, no longer work.

Does the Philadelphia Sapphire Lounge have showers? Yes, two shower suites, booked through the wellness reception inside the lounge.

Is it better than the Centurion Lounge at PHL? It's much bigger and guests are free, and from Oct. 16, 2026 the Centurion is closed anyway. Amex expects the Centurion back by the end of 2027.

Can I bring my family? Yes. Two guests are free and children under 2 don't count; additional guests are $27 each.
