Capital One Lounge New York JFK (JFK): Access, Guests & Review

By Krit · Updated · How we research

Lounge access rules change often — confirm in the lounge's app or the card's benefits page before you fly.

The Capital One Lounge at JFK sits in the Terminal 4 retail hall just after security, and at about 13,500 square feet it's the largest lounge Capital One runs. It's also the only one open around the clock. If you hold a Venture X and fly from Terminal 4, this is the easy pick, especially for a late-night departure. If you fly from any other JFK terminal, you can't reach it without leaving security.

How to get in

Venture X or Venture X Business. Present your physical card or the digital lounge pass in the Capital One app, plus a same-day boarding pass with a confirmed seat. Delta or any other airline departing T4 works. More in the Venture X guide.

Authorized users. Since Feb. 1, 2026, $125 per authorized user per year for lounge access.

Other Capital One cards. Venture, Venture Business and Spark Miles cardholders pay $45 per adult ($25 per child).

Everyone else. $90 per visit, space permitting.

What doesn't work. Priority Pass, Amex Platinum or Sapphire Reserve. Those cards have their own lounges in this terminal (see below).

Guest policy

Guests cost $45 (18 and up) or $25 (17 and under) per visit; under-2s are free and minors must be with a parent or guardian. If your Venture X or Venture X Business account reaches $75,000 in net purchases in a calendar year, you can bring up to two guests per visit free at Capital One Lounges. Capital One's terms say that runs through the rest of that year, the next year and until Jan. 31 after.

What it's like

OMAAT's opening-day review (June 2025) and AwardWallet describe a lounge built around New York food brands:

  • Coffee and breakfast: a bodega-style espresso bar with hand-rolled bagels from Ess-a-Bagel, Bean & Bean coffee and La Colombe cold brew, plus grab-and-go sandwiches, wraps and pastries.
  • Cheese: a Murray's Cheese counter, first come, first served.
  • Small plates: a rotating small-plates bar.
  • Bar: New York-themed cocktails developed with Unfiltered Hospitality, including a Death & Co. signature drink, plus local beer, wine and alcohol-free options.
  • Rituals: roaming trolleys through the day, including afternoon tea and a midnight snack around 12:30 a.m.
  • Space: tarmac views, a hanging glass sculpture, more than 40 works by New York artists, outlets at every seat and shower suites.

The lounge has run 24 hours a day since July 2025, though parts of it may close in quiet overnight hours. That's a real advantage at JFK, where many red-eyes leave after other lounges close. One opening-day visitor noted a short-staffed bar; we haven't found sourced reporting on recent waits. If it's full, the Capital One app runs a digital waitlist.

Getting there

Clear security in Terminal 4 and look for the lounge in the central retail hall between the A and B concourses; OMAAT's review says to take the escalator down from the checkpoint level. Terminal 4 is Delta's JFK home and serves many international airlines. JFK's terminals are not connected after security, and the AirTrain runs landside, so a JetBlue (T5), American or British Airways (T8) or Terminal 1 passenger would have to screen again to use it.

Nearby alternatives

Terminal 4 has more bank lounges than almost any US terminal:

  • Centurion Lounge JFK, Terminal 4 (Amex Platinum).
  • Chase Sapphire Lounge JFK, with Etihad, upper level near gate A2 (Sapphire Reserve; Chase notes limited operations).
  • Priority Pass lounges your Venture X covers ($35 per guest): Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, Air India lounge and HelloSky Lounge.
  • Two Delta Sky Clubs and the Delta One Lounge for eligible Delta flyers.
