The JetBlue Plus Card is the card for people who actually fly JetBlue β East Coast leisure travelers, Mint fans, families hauling bags to Florida and the Caribbean. For $99 a year it earns a chunky 6x on JetBlue purchases, checks bags free for your whole reservation, hands back 10% of every redemption, and quietly moves you toward Mosaic status with everyday spending. It won't suit anyone who flies JetBlue twice a decade β the no-fee JetBlue Card exists for them.

What the points are worth
TrueBlue is revenue-based: award prices track the cash fare, so there's no award chart to outsmart β and no fixed cent-per-point number worth quoting. When fares are cheap, awards are cheap; when fares spike, so do point prices. Historically the ratio has hovered in the low ones β around 1.3β1.5Β’ per point on typical bookings β and it has stayed unusually stable for a decade, but treat that as a tendency, not a promise. Two Plus-card perks nudge your real value higher: 10% of redeemed points come back after every award, and points never expire. TrueBlue also lets households pool points into one balance, which is genuinely useful for families. See how we value each currency.
Where your points can go
Any seat JetBlue sells for cash can be booked with points β no blackout dates, including Mint, JetBlue's excellent lie-flat business class (see our Mint deal write-up). Points also work toward JetBlue Vacations packages. And since the JetBlueβUnited Blue Sky partnership went live, TrueBlue points can be redeemed on select United flights, which extends the currency well beyond JetBlue's East Coast map. Because the program is revenue-based, none of these are "sweet spots" in the classic sense β the sweet spot is a cheap fare.
Earning rates
| Rate | Category |
|---|---|
| 6x | JetBlue purchases (flights, most add-ons) |
| 2x | Restaurants |
| 2x | Eligible grocery stores |
| 1x | Everything else |
6x on a revenue-based currency is a real return β roughly 8%+ back in award value on JetBlue spend at historical point values. The card also earns Mosaic tiles: 1 tile per $1,000 in purchases, on top of the tiles you earn flying (1 per $100 spent with JetBlue). Mosaic 1 takes 50 tiles, so $50,000 of card spend alone reaches Mosaic β most people will combine card spend with flying.
Benefits & credits
Credit amounts and perks change β verify each is current before you count on it.
- Free first checked bag for you and up to three companions on the same reservation β worth $70+ per round trip for one person, several hundred for a family. Fine print matters here: the flight must be booked with this card, the card open at least 7 days, and your TrueBlue number in the reservation at least 7 days before travel.
- 5,000-point anniversary bonus every year.
- 10% of your points back after every redemption.
- $100 statement credit once per calendar year on a JetBlue Vacations package of $100+.
- 50% savings on eligible inflight purchases (drinks, food).
- Mosaic tile earning on card spend (see above) β and JetBlue's 2026 program updates made status more family-friendly: the Mosaic year now runs through January 31, and children's tiles can count toward a parent's status.
- No foreign transaction fees.
Best uses (sweet spots), with examples
1. Fly a family of four with checked bags twice a year. Four travelers Γ one bag each way quickly exceeds the $99 fee in a single round trip β before any points math.
2. Redeem during fare sales. Revenue-based pricing means award prices drop when fares do. Point redemptions on off-peak Florida/Caribbean fares, with 10% back after each award, are the bread-and-butter play.
3. Mint on points. A Mint award is the aspirational use β pricey in points because it's pricey in cash, but the 10% rebate softens it, and Mint's value against comparable business-class cash fares is strong.
4. The Vacations credit as a fee offset. If you'd book a JetBlue Vacations package anyway, the annual $100 credit alone covers the fee.
5. Tiles as a tiebreaker. If you're within reach of Mosaic from flying, putting daily spend at 1 tile/$1,000 on this card closes the gap.
Fine print worth knowing
- The free-bag benefit requires booking with the card and the 7-day lead times above β a companion added last-minute may not qualify.
- The sign-up bonus requires paying the annual fee within the window, not just the $1,000 spend.
- 2x grocery excludes superstore-style merchants at some issuers β check Barclays' current category terms.
- TrueBlue point values float with fares. If JetBlue raises fares or tightens award pricing, your points' purchasing power moves with it β the flip side of never worrying about award charts.
- Points never expire, and pooling shares points but not the card's perks.
Who should get it
Get the Plus if you fly JetBlue several times a year, check bags, or spend enough on JetBlue that 6x and the 10% rebate compound β it's the best all-round JetBlue card and the only sensible path to card-assisted Mosaic.
Consider the no-fee JetBlue Card instead if you fly JetBlue occasionally and never check bags. Consider a transferable-points card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred if JetBlue is just one airline among many for you.
Bottom line
For the JetBlue regular, the Plus is an easy $99: bags for the whole reservation, 5,000 points every anniversary, 10% back on every award, a $100 Vacations credit, and real Mosaic progress from spending. Just go in understanding TrueBlue's revenue-based nature β your points are a fare discount that tracks prices, not a fixed-value treasure to hoard. See how it fits your strategy in Points Path and track the balance in your Rewards Wallet.
